I used to be a huge Madonna fan, but I quit buying her albums after that cheesy "Music" album in 2000. Ever since then, her music sounds more generic and plain with each album she releases.

I've heard a HQ version of "4 Minutes" and it sucks quite frankly. Typical plain Timbaland production, with Madonna's vocals drowned out by Justin Timberlake and overproduced beats. It sounds more like she's the one being featured on the track rather than JT. And the lyrics are just dumb.

God, I can't believe people are buying into this crap...Madonna sets trends not follows them. For her sake I hope it bombs and never tries this again.

^ I don't know how anyone could call "American Life" "plain" and "generic". Even "Music" wasn't like that, save "Amazing" and "American Pie" which were cookie-cutter William Orbit tracks. Very few artists in the mainstream were doing that kind of mixing elecrtonic keyboards and acoustics at the time, and certainly aren't doing it now. I don't think she started a trend but it wasn't pandering like "Confessions" did or like "4 Minutes" does.

Whether you think either of those records is any good is another matter entirely...

On the first listen i wasn't to fond of it. But after a couple more listens it's starting to grow on me. You can't really hear madonnas part aswell as you can hear JT's though.

I do love the horns though, thats what I love about timbaland's tracks, you can just listen to his instrumentals and its still as good and interesting without vocals.

its grown on me lots now, but as a timbaland track, not a madonna track.

Sounds much better now there are higher quality versions around. I'm liking the album version better than the single version!

I love it! Can't find a HQ version though i'm sure it would sound much better. The only thing Madonna doesn't really star in the song imo I agree where some people have said it seems like she's just guesting. Timbalands production and Justin Timberlake is what makes the song. It's like she's following the trend rather than starting it for once but oh well loving the song that's what matters. Hope it's a hit for her

It's fabulous as Madonna's singles always are. She's the most amazing artist. She always puts out great stuff.

This is not my favorite of Madonna's music, but I have nothing but admiration for her. She had some fantastic songs to her credit over the many years of her career, and she is an amazing performer.

I heard it today for the first time and I wasn't that impressed. I used to be a huge Madonna fan. Maybe it's a grower...

If you go on youtube and type in Miles Away by Madonna you can hear another of her new songs and it is very 'old school' Madonna that reminds me of something from the True Blue era.
