To prevent SCD from becoming stale. I know they all have a fanbase on here, but I think its about time now we saw some new Pros. They also need to replace some of the judges and I hope its Len and Bruno.

what about balancing out the panel - two men two women?

To be honest i think its lovely the way it is dancers and judges!! sure some judges and some pros get on my nerves but if i think dancers or judges left and new ones came in it would ruin the vibe they are a nice little bunch ....a big familly!!

I agree with the OP, although I think most of us have pros we would like to stay, ideally I think two couples should leave just to stir things up a bit. I'll just have to hope it's not my favourite two!

Would definitely say yes to a change of judges- maybe bring on one more qualified judge (IF Karen didn't want to dance, she would be perfect) just to give the panel a bit more relevance. Personally I would replace Arlene- I have to turn the sound down when she starts her alliteration!

I'm with you on this Zoe17! Even the pro's I'm less keen on I'd be sorry to see go for the same reason as you...

I wouldn't mind losing the dance-off, the sunday show and the idiot controlling the cameras though!!! they really did irritate me to distraction last year...

Oh yes, would definitely vote for a change of whoever is in charge of the camera angles!

Strangely though I have come round to the idea of the Sunday show, largely because it has actually given us more dancing. Also getting the spoilers on Saturday nights was quite fun!

I'm with katie - more dancing has to be good.

Though by all means shoot the cameraman...

I agree maybe something new would be exciting, but how would you determine which pros left? Most regular SCD watchers have their favourite pros and if the BBC got rid of a couple, then they'd upset people no matter what they do... No one wants their favourite couple to leave and would the BBC want to upset regular viewers when the series is so successful as it is?

On that basis I think the BBC should leave it as it is for now

The BBC don't HAVE to do anything. The pros getting different celebs every year makes it interesting. The celebs expose different elements of the pros and it's interesting to watch how that developes.

Last year I didn't like Darren with Emma, but this year I loved him with Tish. He was more playful and that had more to do with Tish and the partnership.

I agree Orin, I suppose the something new and exciting is the new set of celebrities we get every year, so it's not the same every year!

I love Strictly as it is and wouldn't complain if nothing was changed.

I completely agree.

Pros may decide not to compete in certain years due to other commitment but they shouldn't be forced out, unless they have done something horrid that requires that action.

Personally if they turf out anybody (even Brendan, Karen or Ian who I haven't really taken a shine to) then I will still miss watching them, as they all add something to the show.

The only thing I would like the BBC to do different next year is stop trying to manufacture controversy via editing or Tess. The show has always done well without the need to turn it into celeb Big Brother.

Yes again I have to agree with you Orin - you are talking alot of sense and I applaud you

Again completely agree Orin. If they continue doing that then it will become a big joke and put people off. The viewers get to see the VT's and the stuff on ITT to make up their own minds without having Tess shoving her foot in her mouth.

*whispers* I wouldn't mind if the judges were changed. Although Craig CANNOT go. I like Bruno too.

I have always felt that SCD is on another level and a more mature type of reality TV show. I don't know if that makes sense, but the show attracts better celebs and doesn't have that seedy, desperate element that CBB and IACGMOOF attracts.

It's in the BBC best interest to keep it that way

I like the show the way it is, I must admit I wasnt sure about the sunday show and hated it at first but towards the end of SCD I did enjoy the show.

If Pros feel they wish to move on the so be it - I personally dont want to see ANYONE replaced - the format works now and it doesnt need to be messed with

All we can do is speculate about what might happen, who might return, who might not, which judges might be replaced, what about Bruce and Tess...

At the end of the day the BBC will do what they want - they always have - but if the listen to the people who matter (ie the GBP) who vote in their millions and tune in every single week without fail - they will leave the entire show as it is

Sorry if I have repeated anything that other people have said - wasnt intentional!

NOOO keep the pro's as they are!! They are all wonderful!!

I think new pros would definately freshen things up a bit. We get to see new personalities and choreographies. Some of the show is getting way too predictable,
e.g. Brendan always does an illegal lift at some point, and Anton will get to at least the fourth week regardless of his partner because of his crazy fan base.

:yawn::yawn::yawn:

Regarding favourite pros, I really loved both Hanna and Izabella from Series 3, but they only stayed for one series.

And new pros would remind people on here that the current ones are not the only (or the best) professional ballroom/latin dancers in the world.

You're right! I say the exact same thing. It's not desperate, seedy or in your face. Prefer it to all the other reality TV shows....and it's nowhere near as tacky as Dancing on Ice (which I still do end up watching, but with massively less interest than I did with SCD)

In face the presenters on DOI make you appreciate Brucie and Tess!

Hallelujah to that Orin! SCD has always been a cut above other reality shows, and I was disappointed once or twice last year at some of the X-Factor type histrionics that were going on. The show just doesn't need it!!!

I know where you're coming from, but I really do think that if it's not broken there's nothing to fix. They should leave it for the coming series definitely. Maybe I feel this way because I only became an avid watcher in SCD 5

...and some more. Agree with you on all counts.

That said, if there are pros who want to leave for whatever reason (as the rumours suggest) then it will do no harm, though obviously there are few if any that wouldn't be missed by SOMEbody. I'd hate to think that anyone was being forced out (even those I've not warmed to myself) but if they want to pursue their careers in other directions then I think a slow turnover of pros would be quite healthy. Far better than wholesale or enforced change IMO. The new ones have to start somewhere! And except for the pros who've been in right from the start, they've all been new at some stage. (Flavia in the final after only 2 series - Matt winning after 3 - Ian and Darren were both "new" in S2 & were finalists... Vincent got to the last 4 on his first year... Lilia won in her 2nd... it doesn't seem to slow them down too much!)

I agreed with you about the celebs until the last series, when I felt that Kelly and Penny unbalanced things - Penny because she's not that much of a celebrity, just married to be one, and kelly because the series did seem to coincide suspiciously with the launch of her book, perfume, underwear etc.
With regards to the professionals, though I pleased to see old favourites back, I admit to being a bit disappointed that there were no new faces at all last series.

Agree with SF. But just kick out the Camera Man, not shoot him ( although I know is not a bad idea)
