Which slow cooker can you recommend please

I've been using my slow cooker for years and years and have just noticed a crack in the base. Its a Tower and, fond of it as I am, its been a living nightmare to clean as it doesn't have a detachable bowl so that is an absolute must have.

I would like a recommendation please, or which ones to avoid! Any pros and cons gratefully received.

I've found this one which seems to have some good reviews outside of this site, but value your opinions more as trusted fm colleagues.

I do "home cooking" style cooking for me and my son, but also batch cooking when I have the time so I'm looking for a reasonably large capacity.

Thanks foodies.

Like you say a detachable bowl is a must but apart from finding the right size one for your family I think they're all about the same these days. The only other thing I would look at is what settings they have. Some just have on and off....mine has high, low and auto, mind I only really use the high and low settings.

Good luck in finding one.

Thanks. I've got high and low on my old tower and would like at least that. And if the bowl was dishwasher friendly that would help too!

I use THIS one and it's been great .

Might not be a large enough capacity for you though...

Thanks for that. I'm not sure that it would be big enough

I looked at the Morphy Richards too. But I spoke to a friend lunchtime and she got the Anthony Worral Thompson one from Argos last year and is really pleased with it. As I had some Argos vouchers I've gone and bought one!

I'll do some feedback once I've used it. Thanks for you help everyone.

Feedback for anyone interested.

Mr AW-T - otherwise known as a Breville - will do for me.

I've just used it to make a pork casserole and I love the fact that I can see it cooking through the glass lid, it doesn't fill the house with smells making me want to shut all doors and windows while its on so I don't attract the neighbours cats and dogs or feel I want to eat the food for six hours... and the food is beautifully cooked.

The lid can go in the dishwasher but not the crock pot, but as its so easy to take the bowl out and easy to wash so I'm not bothered about that.

Altogether very pleased with it, albeit only after one use.
