Am I the only one who isn't keen on Suzanne?

There's something about her that irritates me but I can't put my finger on it (And no, I'm not jealous)

Don't get me wrong, I think she's good but she has no warmth and for that reason, I don't enjoy watching her. It was the same with Clare Buckfield last year

I didn't like Clare for the fact she took it far too seriously sometimes and I even recall her screwing her nose up at some of the marks (although I have never seen Suzanne do this)

I much prefer Zaraah. She came in a couple of weeks later and has been great. I think she seems a lot warmer than Suzanne. She has ambition without being smug and I think Suzanne is a bit smug And of course, there were the rumours that Zaraah and Suzanne didn't/haven't bond/bonded because Suzanne had a female rival when before, her biggest rival was Chris. Although that could all be hearsay (sorry )

I do agree Pinky. I've been trying to analyse what it is that I'm not keen on and I'm not sure. I liked her in the first week, she was my favourite, but since then I've gone off her.

I agree that she is a great skater and performer - but like you there is a 'coldness' to her. You try not to take into account the celebrities outside lives and reputations and just judge them on their performances.

I too like Zaraah - she is sparkling and warm. When she's on form she is the most graceful and beautiful performer. She probably hasn't got the 'wow' factor of Suzanne's more daring moves but I just warm to Zaraah a lot more.

I even liked Gareth tonight!

I agree OP, I don't know what it is about Suzanne but I cannot warm to her at all. I felt the same about LSL last year.

I can see Suzanne is good, and I enjoy watching her skate. But there is just something really unlikeable about her. I find her a little ungracious at time towards the judges and maybe a bit to desperate to win.

I liked Clare Buckfield, but Kelly Holmes had a similar effect on me in series one.

I think she is very determined and ambitious, she is using DOI as a platform to get her career back on track and wants to be noticed. Whatever the outcome of the competition she will probably pop up on any Celebrity this, that and the other show there is going!

You can dislike if you want but to say she is desprate to win, aren't they all? What would be the point in being there if they didn't want to win?

I like Suzanne, she is sweet and a very good skater.

I don't think anyone doubts her ability, its her attitude that irks me. I didn't like her on Popstars either and personally didn't feel she was right for the band.

What also irritates me is these injurys, although to be fair that is not her fault at all. Every week, she's hurt something or other. This week, she was supposed to have fractured an ankle. Surely you would be in agony it was fractured? I expect it was just a sprain or a twist, but the press made out it was fractured and it was uncertain whether she'd skate. I expect it was just a ploy to see "brave" Suzanne skate I didn't watch tonight, only the last 5 minutes and it didn't surprise me in the least Suzanne was with the others, beaming away.

I think the only genuine injury she has had was Matt cutting her head open with his blade. If that ankle 'fracture' was anywhere near bad as made out she would not have been able to walk let alone skate.

I agree. I don't think there's anything cold or smug or desperate about her.

Nor do I think there's anything especially warm about Zaraah.

Suzanne is a very competent skater, but lacks personality, even when she does difficult things, she looks robotic.

A bit of Suzanne and a bit of Matt....I wouldn't say they were irritating at all, I don't see smugness either. I just find them to be bland.
But saying that their 60's routine was one of my faves of the series.
I did like Clare and Andrei last year though.

Clearly you are not the only one OP, unless you have over 40 IDs and have voted on here using every one of them:

Where did "fracture" come from?

What they said on tonight's show is that she has chipped a bone, which is consistent with being able to skate.

If the injury were a lie, someone would have spilled the beans by now.

Or do you think DOI's bought off everyone who'd know, including those at the hospital? Or maybe the hospital was a fake too?

Why do people ask "Am I the only one who...?" when they know they're not the only one?

That's exactly what I thought!

With a fractured anke, I don't expect you could walk without being in pain, let alone ice skate and do complicated lifts.

In the DS article about the "fracture", she said she was in excruiating pain but wanted to go on. So it can't have been that bad. Surely even the most ambitious of people wouldn't put themselves in that situation if they were in "excruiating pain"

Didn't Suzanne scrape Matt's face with her blade?

Sometimes people get a cortisone injection to manage a really painful area on there body, my uncle had one on a stress fractured metatarsal to be able to go to Australia.

It wasn't a fracture it was a chipped bone, painful but you can still walk.

Fracture, or a broken ankle was how it was advertised in the good old reliable press this week!

Not all "fractures" are the same. She just has a chipped bone.

It feels that way. Everyone is praising her to high heaven but for me, she doesn't have the warmth that Zarrah and Gareth have (IMO of course) or the stage presence of Chris.

For me, she's just a technically good skater who has no warmth or stage presence.

No, there's even been a thread, seldom off the forum's front page, suggesting that she's desperate. She's been criticised more, in personal terms, that anyone else in the show.

I find with Suzanne she just sort of looks dead behind the eyes. The lights are on but no one's home. That sort of thing. Someone on another forum called her a 'cold fish', I think thats pretty accurate really.

I read an interview with Zaraah where she said that she had bonded with all the other celebs and they all got on well but Suzanne was pretty distant.

Personally, I don't get any warmth from Zaraah's performances, and prefer Suzanne.. It'd be boring if we all liked the same people- just like it's getting boring to have so many Suzanne/Chris bashing threads....
