Don't get me wrong, I think she's good but she has no warmth and for that reason, I don't enjoy watching her. It was the same with Clare Buckfield last year

I didn't like Clare for the fact she took it far too seriously sometimes and I even recall her screwing her nose up at some of the marks (although I have never seen Suzanne do this)

I much prefer Zaraah. She came in a couple of weeks later and has been great. I think she seems a lot warmer than Suzanne. She has ambition without being smug and I think Suzanne is a bit smug And of course, there were the rumours that Zaraah and Suzanne didn't/haven't bond/bonded because Suzanne had a female rival when before, her biggest rival was Chris. Although that could all be hearsay (sorry )”

No, you're not jealous. You just don't like pretty girls who are good at what they are doing, even when what they are doing is not their day job or even their hobby. You prefer the plain girl who is simply average.

It's wrong to make personality judgements off these few minutes and a lot of people are doing this. You don't like them that's fine go and post on your favourite skaters thread but I really don't see the need to be mean to the competition. They've only had lovely things to say about each other so perhaps everyone should just stop.”

Unfortunately, FMF (if I may call you that? ), this is something that forums like this seem to thrive on. Even 'appreciation' threads are not sacrosanct. There are always one or two who will go in and post something uncomplimentary or downright rude about a celebrity (or actor/actorss/etc). Who knows the reasons why? I certainly can't fathom why we have to get so personal about people we don't know, have never met and who we apparently judge on the basis of a few moments on a TV show! If people made judgements like that about me, I'd (a ) be very upset and annoyed because it's not reflective of who you are as a person (we are all of us multi-faceted, despite those who try to maintain otherwise! ), and (b) I'd wonder what their problem was that they had to project such a negative image onto me! If they knew me personally (and had done for some time) and made judgements, then that would be entirely different, of course!

I do realise that we can't all like the same people (the world would be very boring if we did! ), but there are ways of expressing that opinion that don't sound like personal attacks for no good reason (and I have yet to see a 'good reason' for these attacks - for instance, blaming Suzanne for Darren Day being who he was?? - presumably he has changed since! That's definitely a new one on me!!)

Personally I have never felt the need to either start a thread about someone of whom I'm not a fan (for whatever nebulous reason), nor participate in an existing one merely to take cheap shots at them. I believe it would reflect very badly on me as a person and if I have issues with someone I don't know, have never met and am never likely to meet then those are obviously my issues, not theirs.

(Which makes me sound very superior and yet I'm not trying to be! Honest! I just find it really sad that the internet has allowed us to hide behind pseudonyms and make the sort of unkind and uncalled for remarks that are so prevalent on forums such as these.

However, if you think things are bad in here you should visit the Showbiz and General discussion sections!!! They're truly scary! (And other forums are even worse! )

I'm confused If the judges favour her, why does Chris top the leader board week in week out.

Because Chris is good and deserves to be top.BUT suzanne is a favourite with the judges. Its like Bonnie Langford Part 2 IMO.Yes they give Chris good marks as he deserves them, he tried new stuff and is very determined.

Personally i think suzanne shaw is a good skater. But cant warm to her and i think its because of how she gets treated with all the judges just all loving her.

So it's your opinion that Suzanne is pretty and that Zaraah is plain?

I don't agree with you, but that's just my opinion.

Oh I see - if Chris gets good marks it's because he's so good - but that can't apply to Suzanne

Wonder what happened on Saturday then - when she was 2nd from bottom?

Am not saying suzanne doesn't deserve her marks. Sometimes she does. But not always.

This week she was second bottom, because her routine was not her best. She changed one thing because of her ankle.

Hlaf the time matt is carrying her around the ice.

Sorry you seem to contradicting yourself. First you say the judges love her - then you say you're not saying she doesn't deserve her marks - then you say she does sometimes. And finally you say she was 2nd bottom because her routine was not her best - but I fail to see how that fits in with your assertion that the judges favour her.

btw - why is it ok for Chris to be determined (I too think that is fine) - but when it's Suzanne, she's labelled desperate?

Sorry I'm still confused.

Apologies for contridicting myself

As for her being desperate have i ever said that?

IMO they are 2 different skaters. Chris is very eager to learn new things. We have saw that.

But at the moment i think suzanne is just trying to get a six.I just find her very annoying tbh.

But don't you see Mr Fox, if you want to do your best in a COMPETITION, it must mean you're desperate or cocky...

I didn't mean that you had said it - but whereas Chris's determination is considered acceptable, plenty have talked about Suzanne's desperation to win.
You're right, they are 2 different skaters and Chris is eager to learn new things - but what do you think Suzanne has been doing since the beginning of the series if not learning new things? It's not as though she started in week 1 doing the routines she does now?

If you find her annoying - fair enough - we all like or dislike people for different reasons, but if Chris can say "it would have been nice to equal Suzanne's best score," without being criticised, why do Suzanne's efforts to be the best come under such attack?

Admittedly I haven't seen last night's main show- only caught the skate off- so please ignore me if she mentoned it then- but I haven't heard Suzanne mention getting a 6 yet...

I thought Chris had already matched her score anyway

Its not that i am attacking Suzannes Efforts but i cant see why people may call her desperate by the way she comes across sometimes talking in her VT'S(not saying she is)

In her VT she said Bring on the Six. In my opinion she said it in a jokey friendly way. Not in a serious way especially she did this cute little fisting thing.

That is one of the best posts I've read on here and I agree totally with your views. If a poster can't or doesn't want to say something good about someone, then best not to say anything unless they can find a way that is not offensive or with a sarcastic tinge to it.

Thanks for your post Cally's Mum

That is just not true about Suzanne who is a much better solo skater than either Zaraah or Gareth. Gareth still looks uncomfortable on the ice (not much better than Greg this week) and Zaraah sometimes looks petrified. Despite her bad ankle I thought her routine was better than either of them and if anything I think the judges are quite hard on her.
