W960i on Virgin Mobile?
My Virgin Mobile contract is due to run out on the 9th April and I really want the W960i phone.
I'm extremely happy with the Virgin Mobile service and so don't really want to leave but am willing to if need be. I actually have two questions - 1. Is the W960i likely to be available on Virgin Mobile soon? I couldn't see any sign of it on the web. 2. Are Virgin Mobile likely to introduce any unlimited text contracts soon? I'm a heavy text user (I am 19 after all ) and so this would come in very handy.

I'm the bringer of bad news
We won't be getting the W960i (from what i've heard, seen, but it may change, but doubt it), as we're choosing the W890i instead. Am i right in saying that Orange have not chosen this handset as well? With the texts, our £30pm contract over 18months gives 300 mins and 1500 texts (average 50 a day) and if you don't use them all they roll into the next month, and you get free voicemail, and free itemised billing. With that you'll get £100 credit on your account after 6 weeks, and you can trade in your old phone, and depending what it is you could get up to £100 back in credit for that. This offer starts tomorrow (4th March) in stores. www.tradeinyourvirginmobile.com www.virginmobile.co.uk |

Correct Orange also chose not to stock the W960i, but will also be stocking the W890i.

Where is the contract you mentioned as I see no mention of it on the website?
I'm going to give Vodafone a call about the W960i and see what they can offer me. My other option is the K850i on Orange which is tempting me at the moment, especially the Dolphin 30 contract which is £25 online. |

Its a real shame alot of the "bigger" networks aren't taking this handset. It is a pretty decent handset, Adding towards the iPhone competition.
I had to go for a K850i too, Getting it tomorrow, So hopefully it will be OK. |

You need to ask yourself why they aren't taking it.
Most of the problems (with most of the handsets) are down to software problems, Software which the likes of Orange and T-Mobile are adamant they place on all their handsets. Also, I must say, Got the K850i and its pants Thats for another thread though.

Virgin Mobile in particular are very stingy with regards to this... just look at their contract mobiles, some are nearly 2 years old and can be purchased for pittance sim free/payg. Should they provide the w960i it will easily be £100+ on an 18 month contract... nobody will buy it at that so they won't bother at all. Pity they seem to aim so low... Seems virgin mobile are targeting low spend/casual users which may bite them long term. Just look at their data tariffs. |

Mate our hands are firmly tied by T-Mobile on what we can offer.
New Sim only tariffs out on Monday, from what i can remember £15 will be 300mins/300texts or 150mins/1000texts and £20 will be 450mins/450mins or 300mins/2000texts I'll get the info tomorrow |
