New Charlatans album now available for free download at....

http://www.xfm.co.uk/news/2008/downl...album-for-free

the album is getting good pre-reviews, and after Radioheads - In Rainbows and Prince release in Mail on Sunday good to see another band re-defining music distribution.

I'll be downloading when I get home tonight.

Ill be downloading it soon, quite like this band and im all up for supporting this new method of music distribution.

If you also want to support this type of distribution - check out NIN, they just released a new album online, you can download the first 9 tracks for free or the whole thing for 5$. Only 10$ for the physical CD, all this is going straight to the artist, not to any record labels or companys.

For the diehards you can also pay up to 300$ for a limited edition box set etc.

Head on over to http://ghosts.nin.com/ , atleast give download the free version, and give it a listen, you may not like the music but its worth supporting the cause to get the money to artists rather than record labels taking 60-75% of profits off cd purchases! its crazy.

It's brilliant and demands to be listened to.

Tell your friends !!

If it was by a new band everyone would be raving over it.

It is a bit of a joke that a thread about Cascada has more posts and hits than this one.

I've only listened to the first couple of tracks but it sounds like a bit of a return to The Charlatans of about 10 years ago, which is no bad thing.

This sounds interesting. Love The Charlatans but wasn't aware of this.

Does anyone know how they are making money from this album? Are XFM paying them or something?

Thanks for letting me know.
I will download it.

I agree that it's great that some acts are setting the trend for this method of distributing music. Hats off to The Charlatans, Radiohead and the others doing the same. I'm in full support of what they're doing

Well, like every band they will get paid royalties for radio play, there is a physical version of the album that will be released and they are touring.
