18185 and AOL

I know AOL refuse to allow any e-mails from 18185-this is simply countered by setting up another e-mail a/c i.e Google.com-but what if you are with AOL for your phone traffic-will you be able to use the superb 18185 service even if you set up an alternative e-mail a/c?
I have been following the mounting number of questions etc relating to BT's proposed changes wef April 1st on this Forum and it begars belief that BT have managed to create such a state of complete confusion over what should have been a straight forward change of operating practices!
I have read more common sense from other DS posters than from the entire BT web site!

I must have missed something but why are you blaming BT for something that is happening between AOL and 18185?

The BT changes are actually pretty straight forward.
