Are Digital AV Senders reliable and can anyone personally recommend one?
Hi
I'm thinking of investing in a reasonably priced pair of Digi-AV senders for my new house... just for a couple of portables in the bedroom/conservatory (will have Sky Multi-room in the office and obviously one box for the main TV)... I am completely clueless about the reliability of these things, whether they will cause any conflict with wireless broadband... I did a quick google and the flavour of the month seems to be Digisender X7 and I can probably spring to £100 from the local Maplins ... Are these reliable and (more importantly) easy to set up? Anyone's personal references would be really useful, and perhaps price guides if over the £100 bracket... prepared to be a little flexible for something that won't kibosh my wireless internet connectivity! |

one sky box can be controlled in separate rooms using a magic eye or several magic eyes
do you fancy wiring it up as more stable a wireless sender with 4 channels would be what your after |

I will probably have the two portables in the main bedroom and conservatory... so I guess if I look at Magic Eye... what connects where to enable the signal to be transmitted to these two TVs? I notice it's considerably cheaper! |

well if your having two sky boxes it makes it easier!
get the sky man to run the wires all you need is one extra remote and magic eye for bedroom. Its great watching something you recorded in bed ! so living room will feed bedroom with magic eye put second box in conservatory ( multiroom , £10 per month charge ) and if you cant decide what to watch one person can watch another channel in there. Even better if you have kids. You could put a second feed to kitchen and again with magic eye control it in there its the same set up as I have .... two boxes controlled in 4 rooms however using a distribution amp that allows 9 volts to travel through ( this is how magic eye works ) you could have one box and be able to change sky in all rooms if they have magic eyes in them, but you have to agree in what to watch http://www.beststuff.co.uk/slx4b.htm |

I suppose I can go ahead and order it. I don't suppose that Sky actually do Magic eyes, because you're right - it if's being wired in (professionally!) it may as well all be done at the same time, and then when the MASS redecoration starts they can work round it!!!! Thanks for your advice... that's great stuff. |

Yeah... I don't remember where I saw it, but I saw that 2.4GHz wireless senders did sometimes fritz out wireless networks too.

In my experience they wipe each other out, I don't advise using wireless senders at all.
Thanks all for input! |
