The Orchestra

I don't know who the orchestra and singers are, and they never show them, but it seems to me they do a great job, with their versions of classics like "Don't Rain On My Parade" and "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road". I think they should show them at least once each week.

I thought they used the original versions!

Yup, except when they have someone on live like Take That, Westlife or Leona Lewis, they use recorded music rather than a live orchestra. I believe it's a very small studio and I guess there just isn't space to put an orchestra or band.

Personally, I'm not an enormous fan of the live performances because then we don't get to see all of Chris and Jayne's performance.

Tell me about it!
And we have to put up with the main attraction, the main focus being Leona Lewis instead of J&C!

There's no live Orchestra on DOI. They skate to the actual audio tracks themselves, although a live band would be great as you say M, it's probably just not feasable.

They use the original tracks as they do in normal ice skating, not a live orchestra and singers.

Take That wasn't too bad because it was the first time but I'm definitely not a fan of either Westlife or Leona Lewis.

Mind you, the fact that Westlife can't dance and they were basically standing still while T&D skated around them was a definite plus

And Leona's only one person so hopefully she won't detract too much from Chris and Jayne's performance.

Huh O_0... I thought everyone knew they were the audio tracks! I admit I find this thread shocking and funny.

Thank god we don't have to listen to SCD's awful singers

Yeah, they are just audio tracks edited down to 90secs or however long the celebs get to skate to them so really the editors do well.

Yup, definitely the original recordings of the artists concerned!

Although I do find it a little offputting when they play a favourite of mine - because I then start singing along and get distracted away from the skating! (Thank god for Sky+!!!!).

Do you think the OP was joking and wondered how many of us actually thought there was an orchestra or how many replies he'd get with pretty much everyone of them saying the same thing!

Wasn't it just awful this year, how the celebs managed to keep in time was beyond me, in fact sometimes I think the celebs were on time but the singers were so out of tune

OP? What's that - Old Person?

I just didn't recognise Barbra Streisand's voice singing "Don't Rain On My Parade".
