Not as such - though we do make an effort to sit down together and eat whilst discussing our days events

Sunday is always roast -

For me is perfect - too many families are not able to do this - and eat "on the run"

The sit down and get together works for me brilliantly - whatever is on the menu

I haven't lived with my parents for years now, but there did used to be a meal routine:

Sunday - roast
Monday - roast again (finishing the meat joint from Sunday)
Tuesday - Pie and chips
Wednesday - Stir fry
Thursday - Spaghetti bolognese
Friday - Fish
Saturday - Steak

We always sat down together wherever possible for our evening meal .

I have never had set meals for set days. I just do whatever i fancy.

I do ensure that we sit together though - which can be a pain when my husband is home late. Tonight he is home at 8:30pm, so it means a late dinner. Because he is late, i dont want anything 'heavy'. So i will probably do oven chips with egg, bacon and beans or something. I fancy a curry with naan, but i think that will sit heavy on my stomach.

We get slop every day of the week - but that's just because my wife is a terrible cook and everything she serves is foul.

You cook then!
Should be cheers all round.

Himself said he knew the day of the week when he saw what his mother had put on the table.
Tea was always at 6PM back then, no matter what.

other than always having a roast on a sunday, and usually (not interntionally, just out of habit) having fish on a friday, we dont stick to a set routine.

although i do like to decide what were having the night before, so i can sort out the ingredients.

No.
We eat different things at diffent times. I prefer it that way.

To a couple of posters on this thread - isn't having fish on a Friday a Catholic thing? The OH's mother was Catholic Irish and she always cooked the family fish on Fridays.

Its quite rare now for all of us to be sat down at the table together, as my brother and I work evenings in the week.

We don't have certain meals on certain days (well roast dinner on a sunday) but we talk on a monday about what to have next week.

Hubby's Mum used to stick to the same routine each week, my Mum had similar meals weekly so when we married I vowed that we would never stick to routine!

I buy enough in for the week and cook it randomly

This is a problem in our house, 8.30 would be very early for my OH, we almost never eat together in the week. I cook for the kids, and cook for her later. I eat with whichever sitting I need to. It's been like this for about 10 years now, I look forward to her retirement, and getting to know her again.

These two girls who are twins I use to be good friends with one of the twins so I use to be round their house quite alot and they had routine meals in the week and then at weekends they had salad on the Saturday and roast on the Sunday but their mum went to work so what she did was cooked the dinner and they just warmed it up when ever they wanted to eat it.

We have never done routine meals at home. my dad does the cooking and he's a really good cook so he cooks what ever we feel like eating that day. We do have a roast on Sundays though

No, we don't have set meals for each day. We don't always get chance to sit around the table at the same time.

I eat what I like at whatever time I fancy eating.

Sometimes I'll have bacon, egg, fried tomatoes, mushrooms and toast (breakfast in other words), at tea-time.

We never eat set meals on set days.

We have a routine come teatime

Sunday - Roast
Tuesday - Pork chops, boneless chicken breasts or steak, depending on what I pick up.
Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays varies each week
Fridays - cooked meal

Once, sometimes twice, a week in the week we have chips.

Usually fry up for brunch Sunday and Roast in the evening. Rest of the week, whatever I feel like on the day. Usually have one take away a week either Chinese or Chip Shop.
We all sit down together whatever we are having.
