And there are things you can buy in UK supermarkets that you can't in America.

You can get most American products on the internet anyway.

the best thing about american supermarkets are the prices.. they are insanely low, especially with the current exchange rate.

True, you can buy rifles in Wal-Mart... but you can't just go in, buy one, and walk out with it the same day. There are checks that have to be made first. Depending on the state, there is usually a waiting period of 3 or days or so while the criminal checks are being made.

I worry more about the people who buy their guns from other sources, where background checks are not made.

Hi all,
I lived in the states until about 3 years ago, and I think the supermarkets are better here.

And the 'suitable for vegetarians' labels rock! In the states, I had to read the sometimes looong list of ingredients on everything ,wich usually contained words like monosodiumblaahbadstuffinate and emulsosickeningchemicalfiers, just to make sure my food contained no critter byproducts.

The prices are so low because the products contain almost no natural ingredients.

It would probably work, but it might be less messy to use one of these:

That's alright then. Why is it Americans can't see anything wrong with being freely able to buy a machine gun?

I think you'll find that it is illegal to own a machine gun in the US. I've a vague recollection that the ban predates WWII, but I may be wrong.

That's because guns and alcohol are a dangerous combination!

Not forgetting the nicotine. You do feel the need for the ATF, after all.

I went to States(Minnesota for 5 weeks with some kids programmee) and I went to Target. Target is smaller than Wal-Mart, but still HUGE. It has everything you need!

I do want to study in the States when I'm older, though I am crap at saving money, bye bye dream

If you'd have said that 3 years ago, I would have agreed. Now though whenever I travel to LA or NYC, I think certain things like fresh fish and meats actually cost more in supermarkets there than here. Walmart is still very cheap though.

And in MA too - but there is always a huge liquor store right next door.

Can imagine coming in from work to see a note on the cooker "Gone to the supermarket to get a gun, back in 5"

Or what about "Ran out of bullets, please pick some up on your way home"

One we were in during a stay in Florida refunded you a $1 a minute you were kept waiting at the checkout. And they packed your bags and carried them to your car - and insisted on NO tip. The staff were polite and always asked if we were enjjoying our stay.

Imagine that happening at Asda or Tesco!

Asda..."This checkout's closing 'cos I'm going for my break"
Tesco....."........" (don't know how you express silence, 'cos they never speak to you, even if you try to strike up a conversation)
