Trying to figure out if I can connect my SKY+ box optical audio to my old surround sound system that does not have digital inout only the old 6xphono connectors. Have seen convertors for audio to coax but nothing that splits out to 6x phonos.

Any ideas?

Can't be done. At least not with a bit of wire.

What comes out of the optical out is DIGITAL and more than likely encoded in one of the surround sound formats. What goes into the surround sound system is ANALOGUE and decoded.

So you need both Digital to Analogue conversion AND Dolby/DTS decoding. And that means a box full of electronics.

This is the one i use, i like it.

1x optical input
1x phono digital input
L/R phono input
3.5mm jack input

and a headphone jack.

Its good as long as you dont have too many digital audio things using the same connection kind as it only has one of each.

Ebay or Richer Sounds would be a good place to start.

Have you a budget in mind?
