Hi,

Considering getting a phone on 02 PAYG. I have seen a data bundle available for £7.50 per month as a bolt on. Would this allow me access to 3G and HSDPA speeds, does anyone know if they give you a sim card with the phone you buy or whether you have to buy one separate?

Also, do the phones come unlocked when bought from an 02 shop?

Thanks

From what others on here have said I am led to believe that the Web Bolt On for O2 PAYG is WAP only.

You will get a SIM Card with the phone when you purchase it.

And all O2 PAYG Phones are locked to the O2 Network. However, their PAYM phones are not!

Officially it is WAP only, however some phones are able to access the full internet and on some others it is possible to alter the settings. In those cases the bolt-on will cover internet access.

Thanks for your help. I have now purchased the phone and have a 3G sim card. Just waiting for it to charge!

Could you please give me more info on the HSDPA browsing tweaks? The phone is a W910i, will this tweak already work?

Thanks

What do you mean by HSDPA browsing tweaks?

First of all, try it. SonyEricsson phones often have the correct settings.

Thanks, I do have a large H logo instead of the usualy 3G logo at the top of my screen. Will do a speed test later but at the moment pages are loading very fast.

Right a also have a new problem! I get confused very easily!

The phone was bought with £10 credit from the O2 store and was on the Talkalot tarrif i think.

Now last night I changed my tarrif via text to Text Anytime. I got a text confirming the changes and it told me that my free montly allowance will be changed on my next anniversary date.

I have no idea when my anniversary date is? Is it the day that the O2 rep put credit on my phone?

I find it a bit annoying if that is the case, I have to wait until 5th April to top up again and get my free texts.

Can I not just top up now and it will 'set' me an anniversary date and give me the free texts? Can my anniversary date be changed by O2 CS, its not as if i am cheating the system as I havent had any of the free bundles yet

Yes, the Symbian smartphones are very easy to set-up for web access on O2 PAYG.
