well done so its crispy, and i like lots of butter so it goes soggy in the middle.

im not good with bread, gives me belly ache, but i cant resist, especially if it has a couple of slices of crispy bacon in it...yum yum

I have toast in one form or another almost every day.

My favourite is white (cardboard!) bread, lightly toasted with proper butter and marmalade or Dairylea, relish, smooth peanut butter or even sauce.

Sometimes I have scrambled egg, beans and Lea and Perrins or cheese on toast and often have toasted sandwiches.

I used to love it with Marmite but it (Marmite) gives me indigestion afterwards.

Lightly done on white bread, with smooth peanut butter. Crusts have to be nice white, soft ones, not those horrible burnt ones.

Well done on brown bread, I leave it to go cold then have either light Philadelphia spread or Dairylea.

Ooo molly - you don't know what you're missing .

Lightly toasted toast for me, margarine to make it a bit soggy, then crunchy peanut butter or loads of BOVRIL spread on top .

Yes, I forgot the 'leave to go cold' bit!

I actually make my toast and leave it for a good ten minutes to go hard, before I put any toppings on.

wish id have liked it cold, in the days of the resession, when we didnt have money to buy stuff for our break in work, we'd all make our toast before we left home, wrap it in foil or cling film, then put it alonng the tops of the radiators in work...it went all rubberyish

Actually, talking about toast has prompted me on what to have for tea!

I've been a bit under the weather all day and can't face a whole cooked meal, so I'm having some toast with (tinned) red salmon on top - one of my favourite comfort foods.

Thanks, OP.

White tiger bread toasted under the GRILL with real butter (Anchor or President). Spread it, then put it back under the grill for 30 seconds for the butter to melt.
