Just purchsed the Logitech Z-5500 Digital Multimedia Home Theatre System. But cannot connect it to tv.

The last speakers we had connected via a wire with a red and black output, 2 went in the back of the tv and 2 into the subwoofer.
This one provided a wire with orange, green and yellow markings which seem to be only for use with computer.

What wire do i use?

Do you think that might be because it's a surround sound system for a computer, and not really for a TV?.

TV's don't supply any kind of surround sound, but it may have stereo phono outputs, or you could take sound from it's SCART output socket, assuming your amp has suitable inputs?.

well it says multimedia system and also states in the instructions that you can play it with various things i.e dvd player, mp3 player, xbox so i see no reason why it shouldnt work direct from the tv. I think i am either using the wrong cable or putting it in the wrong place.

Like I said, SCART socket from the TV, that should give you stereo audio output, assuming it's a stereo TV of course?.

...(3 stereo-mini connectors) for 3 stereo analog mini audio sources, like CD and DVD players, Playstation 2, Xbox, or 2 channel PC sound cards (some devices may require stereo mini to dual RCA adapter, sold separately)
(1) Analog stereo-mini (on side panel of control center) for portable CD, MP3,or MiniDisc players
Looks like you just need a 2xRCA Male to 3.5mm mini jack stereo cable - link
