Some questions about 3
Hi,
I am currently on T Mobile as it is the only network that I get a signal on in my house. I cannot get any Voda or Orange and can only get 02 in certain places and then its only 1 bar. I was thinking of joining 3 and getting the N95 8Gb but am confused by thier coverage. I have seen that they share with Orange, O2 and also T Mobile. Is this correct and if so does anyone know what signal I would get ( Postcode GL15 6HE). Some clarification would be great before I enter into an 18 month contract. Cheers. Simon. |

check their website for coverage they have a detailed coverage checker.
As far as sharing their network they have there own 3g transmitters, and in areas where they dont have a 3g transmitter they share with orange. So if you were in an area where they had no 3g coverage you would roam onto orange's network. I dont think they share with o2 anymore. As for sharing with tmobile the two companies have agreed a deal where by they will share their 3g transmitters cutting down on the need to put so many up and also to further the 3g coverage of both networks, as far as I know although the agreement has been made no sharing has started yet. |

Thanks,
Unfortunatly the coverage checker doesn't really show where I live in much detail. It is quite rural and all networks can be a bit patchy. |

Blimey, you are in a rural area!
First thing to do is take a look here: http://www.sitefinder.ofcom.org.uk/ This will show the nearest transmitters to you (no wonder you can only get T-Mobile, its the only mast around!) I rekon signing up to Three would not be a great idea. Doesnt look as if you will get any 3G coverage at all, not even any Orange 2G coverage! |

I'm sure that the contract has a 14-day cooling off period, whereby you can cancel during the first 14 days. CHECK THIS FIRST THOUGH! PLEASE!
Your best bet would be to ask a friend who has a 3 phone to visit, and then see if you can get any signal. |

If i remember correctly, Three got rid of their 14 day guarantee. Not sure what happens if you buy online though.

If you can't get Orange signal, I wouldn't bother switching to 3.
I left 3 after a good few years because I couldn't put up with the crap signal anymore. Shame as they offered me such a good renewal deal! |
