Beatles songs on itunes. Will you buy any?
Just read on ceefax that The Beatles songs will be available on itunes shortly after the court case with hop-a-long has finished. The question is, who will download what? Personally ive had most of the cds in my collection at some time and have my faves on my ipod already. I would gues a lot of Beatles fans are of the older generation without mp3 players. So how well will they really do? Will we have a top 20 that is nearly all Beatles songs or will just the odd 1 or 2 creep in the top 40?

Thank god - finally!
Yea, I'll be buying the ones I don't have, which are Please, Please Me and With The Bealtes . . . I think I'm missing another one too. |

If they're all remastered, I'll be buying them all, and hopefully the transitions from track to track will work properly, unlike with Pink Floyd's The Wall - despite being a concept album, all the tracks don't connect properly (we have the 1994 release, whereas the US have the 2000 remaster, which does work properly).
Actually, I might try and start a Facebook campaign to get a Beatles song to no. 1 when they finally come on iTunes. Does anyone in the know have a more specific date? Everyone keeps saying early 2008, or spring or something, and every week I keep hoping for them to update the music store with it, but it never happens!

I won't be buying any, I have all their studio albums and both Past Masters compilations, anything else doesn't really appeal to me enough to buy.
I think it's possible that we see a number of Beatles songs hitting number 1, even the top 20, and most probably a few top 40's Here, There and Everywhere

If they are clever they wont release them all at once, but a little at a time. That way we can get them to number one.
Would be great to see the best band in the history of music back at number one where they belong. |

Yay! This means that the remastered cds can only be just round the corner.

I've got a Napster to go subscription at £15 per month which means that I can down load most things without extra charge.
However, Ringo and George's solo stuff is 79p per track (as is Led Zep), so I think The Beatles will cost that too. I haven't got many of their CDs but I think it would be cheaper to physically buy the CDs unless I just decide I need a couple of tracks. |

I reckon some people get carried away downloading when quite often it is as cheap or cheaper to get the cd. then you also have something tangible that you could flog on again one day, thereby recouping some of the money. |
