Nokia n73 on t-mobile pay as you go
I'm getting a new nokia n73 on t-mobile pay as you go shortly. Iam on virgin mobile at the moment and wondered if I put my sim into the n73 would it work? Reason I ask is because I have a nokia n70 (which is unlocked) but it says tmobile uk on the main screen which makes me think that t-mobile & virgin use the same network?
So would I be able to use the virgin simcard in the n73?

It depends how the N73 is locked. A phone can be locked to a physical network or it can be locked to the provider (T-Mobile or Virgin).
In the past people have reported varying degrees of success. Some assert that Virgin SIMs work in T-Mobile phones but not the other way around. Others then contradict them! So I guess you will have to try it. |

Yes, it will work. Virgin is a virtual mobile network. A virtual network sim will always work in the phone locked to its parent network.
But, a parent SIM will not work in a mobile locked to a Virtual network. So, a Virgin SIM will work in a T-Mobile phone, but not the other way around. A Tesco SIM will work in an O2 phone, but as Tesco is a virtual network, a O2 SIM will not work in a Tesco phone. Asda SIM will work in a Vodafone phone, but a Vodafone SIM won't work in an Asda phone. etc

As I said in my post, it depends how the phone is locked. In the past people have reported both working and non-working. When asked, Virgin say it depends on the phone. Hopefully, it will work for you.

Well I got the phone today and yes my virgin sim card will work in the phone. Took the horrible t-mobile firmware off and replaced it with the music edition firmware and it runs alot better.
Will take me a while to get used to the joystick though.
