Which Network are you on and why?
Just out of interest and not to start some heated argument so be nice
which network are people here on?I personally have tried all the major networks , fell out with vodafone over a bill dispute, left o2 because of their poor data tariffs and orange also because of poor data tarriffs and appalling customer service. Found 3 to be good but their 3g coverage is somewhat iffy where i live and calls kept dropping because of the constant switching between 2g and 3g. So that just leaves T-mobile, Im with them now and have broadband from them a n95 and mda touch, the data tarriffs are excellent the reception pretty good and customer services excellent. Of course like all networks they arent perfect but I find them the best. So what about everyone else? |

I'm on a sim only deal with virgin. Its a monthly contract so can cancel anytime & I get 300 mins and 300 text which is enough for me and all for £10 a month.

I was previously PAYG with T-Mob for years but switched to a contract with o2, which seemed like a good idea at the time. I'd love to like o2 and thought I would but uploading or downloading anything is ridiculously expensive and MMS sending is shockingly unreliable (often I can't send MMS until after midnight). Might go back to T-Mobile when my contract is up, or switch to someone else, Orange or 3 perhaps. When I try to compare tariffs my head whirs and my eyes sting so it'll be pot luck! But it won't be o2.

I have a T-Mobile Flext plan. I've been with them since One2One days. I also have an Orange staff plan.

Orange staff plan which I use loads and my bill is rarely more than 8-9 quid.
T-Mobile Flext 20 (was 35) which will be going at the end of the contract, as although I use the data, I rarely if ever, use the allowance ... |

O2 it is for me
![]() And here is why... I know loads of other people on it who talk to on a regular basis They always have sorted out any issues i have had promptly and easily I'm on the talkalotmore plan with the 150 - 300 free minutes a month So to sum this post up, i'm happy with them and will continue to be with them for the near future unless i have to change for other reasons

I'm on contract with vodafone with a Nokia N95. I'm on vodafone cos they were the first network I applied for to get a contract. I've found them to be very good so far with no problems. I am deaf which is why I use lots of texts and I contact customer service via email and they are always very helpful.

3 for me.
Was with Orange PAYG for 6 years, dare not use my phone to make calls, so expensive! Signal not always good at work and customer services and online site totally crap. Switched to 3 in November 2007, initially on PAYG, now have 1 PAYG and 2 contact phones in our household and my extended family have embraced them too. Why? Simply the best value network for calls etc, best for free features like MSN and Skype and the included "Planet 3 " which is ideal for checking bills, buying add ons and obtaining information about my services free of charge. Free voicemail is also a bonus. All in all, well chuffed with 3 so far and probably the best move i ever made regardless of any company and product ever used previously. Well done 3 !!!! |

Currently with O2 after a disasterous stint with Orange. I'm with them because their £15/m 200 min and 400 texts tariff is excellent value. I have had major trouble with both O2 and Orange in the past, O2 have twice billed me twice for direct debits in the same month on different contracts, Orange lied to me when I started a new 18 month contract, and weren't interested when my phone developed a fault after only a few months used.
I find O2 generally better value than Orange, in that my usage rarely changes, but my Orange bills were always dearer than my O2 ones, however, as I want a new phone, and I'm currently on a sim only tariff, I think I'm going to try T-Mobile for a change. The only operator I've not had any problems with, and who's customer service has been first class, has been Tesco Mobile. I'd highly recommend them to anyone, and frequently do if anyone is thinking of changing supplier. |

With 3 and still on a tariff with inclusive cross network MMS & Video Calling, which I use a bit. As stated above, 'My 3' really is an excellent tool and is just one of the reasons I don't plan to go anywhere else.
The fact I'm rarely out of 3G coverage (even when visiting family back in Norn Iron) too. |

I'm with the carphone warehouse version of O2 and it is quite frustrating. I can only ever talk to one agent, if he is not in, they won't let me speak to anyone else.
Things like port codes I have to write a letter in and call them repeatedly etc. Basically, they try and delay you as much as possible from leaving. Quite frustrating. |

T-Mobile.
My first mobile was with One2One and I never had a problem with them, but switched to Orange at uni as all my mates were on Orange and x-net still cost a bomb back then. Left Orange after a string of cock-ups and general incompetency, and T-Mobile and Orange were the only two networks with a decent signal at my house at the time - stuck with them ever since due to excellent customer services (and actually being able to provide a service that doesn't require me contacting customer services every week). The Flext & Web'n'Walk package I'm on was the most competitive for my needs at the time I last upgraded too - only went into the T-Mobile shop to shelter from the rain too, came out with a free upgrade (K800i - K810i), lower monthly line rental, and a bigger allowance .

Orange, My husband and daugter are with orange and have each others numbers as magic numbers, so it doesn't cost anything when we ring each other. 200 messages, 300 minutes. I took this contract out because at the time I got a free nintendo ds,
I can downgrade if I want to after the 9th month of the contract

I change networks depending on how I use my phone.
Orange - to call my parents at 15p an hour, and to get free text messages to other Orange phones. o2 - for calling friends. Vodafone - for using my phone abroad. Tesco - when I can't be bothered to top up for a while. |

Currently with 3 contract. Tempted to them for various reasons...
* 75 mins & 600 texts, which altogether I rarely get close to using for £15 with an excellent Nokia 6120 thrown in. * X-Series - for £5 (silver) this is exceptional value though the problem with Real media streams is a pain at the moment, but I can live with it as I just do mostly phone browsing. * 3 Like Home - this shouldn't be underestimated. It means that I can use my phone across the border the same way I do back home and its taken out of my normal minutes & texts with no cross-border charges to worry about (I still keep a Meteor PAYG sim if I need to phone a number in the Republic itself or I'm out of 3G coverage in the south, but their coverage is very good). Planning to head out to Australia in a few months time and the same applies with the ability to have a broadband add-on as well. Customer service? I haven't had to ring them yet so I can't comment, but I'm happy enough so far. As for coverage, I live outside of 3's 3G coverage so the phone defaults to 2G (either Orange or O2) at home which does cripple the internet capabilities of the phone a fair bit (though until recent problems streaming the BBC radio services over GPRS wasn't a problem) and it's not until you get into 3G coverage that it unleashes its power. Thankfully they have coverage in Omagh (only network to do so) and it's fun to use the phone when in the town. Overall then coverage is excellent. Previously been with O2 PAYG, good network even if x-net charges are steep though I've seen they have taken a step in the right direction recently. My brother however is a contract customer is unhappy with them. Also used to have Orange OVP Virgin which was OK, but not worth it after a while. A number of years ago was on Vodafone PAYG which was OK but peak calls were expensive. Never been on T-Mobile or Virgin due to lack of decent coverage. |
