Hi my dad's got a philips 42 lcd tv model 42pfl5522d which works fine apart from freeview.One day when he turns it on the freeview works then the next day just a blue screen nothing.He's not sure what to do about it get someone out to look at the aerial or just buy a booster.I myself think it's got to be a reception problemPS i got the same tv as well and i get the same problem

Does the TV have any menu function that lets you check the digital signal strength and quality?

It does sound like an signal strength / aerial problem.

Start by buying an aerial booster - they're not that expensive and see how you go.

If your aerial is more than 10-15 years old, it may be worth investing in a new one. Also that will tell you for definate whether the tv is at fault or not.
