Order of performing.

Do you think it makes a big difference in public votes and judges marking , who skates first and last?

the judges tend to mark the first skater lower i think as to set a level of their judging. For example - if they give the first skater a 6 then someone else does better - they can't give them a better mark.

Do you know how performance order is decided each week cause it seems a bit random at times.

I always feel the first skater gets a raw deal as Judges rarely give top marks until they have seem a couple of routeins

I would hate to perform last because you will be nervouse all the way through the show and if you go first then you have got it over with and you can enjoy the rest of the show

Yes. First is dangerous, because the judges tend to mark low to leave themselves "room".

Since voting lines don't open until all have skated, going last is probably best if you're good, because your performance will be fresh in viewers' minds when voting begins.

I think with any of these type of realtiy shows - going last is an advantage, it seems that the public seem to give more votes for the later performers than the earlier ones - however that didn't make any difference when Greg skated last week.

I think now that we are closer to the final it will all depend on performance and I don't think skating order will influence it too much

Last week with Greg I thought that by having him on last, the judges could give him a respectable score, but without risking placing him above any of the others, lol.

I think in the early weeks, it's bad for the skater to be on early, especially if they are one of the less well known celebs, who are easier to forget. I think it makes less of a difference towards the end.

Last week I thought they maybe put Chris and Greg on last because they had the heaviest props which might be the ones that damage the ice, but that could be a load of nonsense.

That actually sounds quite a sensible idea Sparkle I never thought of that

I wonder how they usually decide on what order to perform though?

I think it'll be down to the producers. They need to mix it up a bit, and chop and change between the fast and slow songs. In the early weeks, I think they tried to spread out the most famous names, to keep people tuned in to see them. Apart from last week when Greg was on last, they'd almost always only had Suzanne, Chris or Gareth on last.

I thought they put Greg and Chris on last coz like you said they had the huge table and the other props would be easier to get off the ice but with Chris and Greg side by side they could just slide it around and then it was the hour break where they could spend as much time as they like trying to get it off the ice.

yeah - i think its down to the producers certainly in the first week - they might then use the scoreboard to help the ordering and maybe use that to either show the weaker skaters clearly or to make it look like a closer competition than it is.
