WXGA Panel What is it?

I am considering this, among others, as a replacement TV for the bedroom.
What is this WXGA Panel? What does it do? Can I live very well without it?

Thank you, but that was as clear as mud. I did Google but could only find adverts. If it's just something to do with widescreen I'll ignore it. I don't like widescreen TV but unfortunately it's becoming very difficult to find anything else.

Incidentally, can I take it that that entry in Wikipedia is one of the few correct ones?

If you're considering buying it you'd better not ignore it as that is a widescreen model.
Most Freeview channels are broadcast in widescreen so the picture will be in the correct proportions on a widescreen model.
