Can anyone recommend an in-car CD/radio with iPod support?

Hi all,

I'm not sure where to post this question - but here seems like the best place - hope that's okay.

Can anyone recommend an in-car CD/radio with iPod support?

My brother is buying a car and he has asked me if I can look into it.

Any suggestions appriciated - ideally from high-street shops like Argos or Halfords.

Many thanks,

Steve.

Most new cars these days are supplied with iPod sockets: but if its a used car don't bother to fit a new CD/radio.
Just get a wireless fm transmitter (the size of a matchbox) from Maplin or similar for about £10. One end plugs into your iPod/mp3, the other into the lighter socket.

Many thanks for the reply. He is buying a used car but I think he said it needed a new CD/radio anyway - either the one already installed is faulty or it's missing. Good point about the FM transmitter - I'd forgotten about those - I'll bear them in mind but if needs a new unit anyway he may as well get one with an iPod connection built-in.

Many thanks,

Steve.

The sound quality on the FM transmitter I had was pretty awful. I couldn't find a clear frequency through the whole FM spectrum that would give inteference free sound. A new CD/Radio with an mp3/iPod jack is the way to go.

get one with iPod control, then you can use the buttons on the front of it to change track instead of searching for the iPod on the end of a wire somewhere.
