Advice appriciated regard possible problem with Virgin network
Hi all,
I live with my parents and both me, my mum and my dad all have mobiles on the Virgin network. Both me and my mum spend most of our time either at home, or within a 1 to 2 mile radius of home. (I'm mostly at home due to health problems). Both me and and my mum have been having phone problems recently. Two people have said that they've had problems contact my mum on her mobile and with my phone about every 10 minutes the handset has been losing the network intermittently for about 10 minutes and then coming back to full signal again. This appears to be happening most between after lunchtime until late and appears to be worse mid afternoon to mid evening. My Dad hasn't reported any problems with his phone but it's usually only on during the day when he's at work about 6 miles away. When my phone was without a signal I tried phoning it from my BT line and there was a 15-20 second delay where the line appeared to go dead before the voicemail was connected. I've e-mailed Virgin and as is usual with their support team they've been really good. They tech guys checked with T-Mobile and they've had no outages in the area. Virgin said that our problems are almost certainly caused by network congestion in the area but the network has been fine for the past 6 years or so that I've been with them. Just wondering if anyone else agrees that our problems are down to congestion? Seriously considering changing networks, probably to Vodafone or Orange but I've been really, really happy with Virgin until now. Kind regards, Steve. |
