my wife restarted her phone and the 'inactive sim' message disappeared. now we are half ported to o2 - as all texts are going on the o2 phone but calls are still going to the orange phone - why cant they do it all at once???

now we have fully ported over to o2 - the reason i got worried was that the CS person told me that i would loose reception on both phones for an hour so i was waiting for that.
When porting it generally takes most of the day. The best bet is wait for original SIM to be deactivated, turn phone off. Wait a few hours stick the new SIM in turn on and wait.

Porting a number from one network to the other is like moving files, each file gets moved over seperately as on a computer etc so different things may take longer.
