Bread freshness
If I put a loaf of Kingsmill 50/50 Medium bread in the fridge just after I buy it, will it keep it fresher for longer?

I always keep bread in the fridge during summer - it stays fresher for much longer.

has anyone else noticed that bread, like most fresh foods, just doesnt last as long as it did in the past - no idea why, it must be full of preservatives now, but i have noticed this.

I keep my bread in the freezer and just take out slices as and when I need them. Never have to have slightly stale bread and never waste any either.

A large sliced loaf lasts OH and I about 10 days, we only have a slice of toast for supper, so the bread lives in its polythene bag in the fridge and is still edible at the end of the loaf, although I probably wouldn't eat bread of that age in sandwices.
