How long for my MAC ?
RyanL
11-03-2008
After reading one too many Horror stories on the Tiscali forum and others i'm off!

Nearly 3 years with Homechoice (r.i.p) so i will miss it, but i have no confidence at all in Tiscali ,i think they would struggle to run a bath! And as for the customer service (an area i work in) lets just say not one person i've dealt with,
except MK_Brett would still have a job if they worked where i do.

Anyway done a deal with a neighbour to have a joint dish so i now have Sky+ (soon to be HD) and its all good

I'm going with Sky for the broadband too so just wondered will i have trouble getting my mac ,they said 1-5 days on the phone,do they actually stick to this? I will be shocked if they do!

Cheers
Ryan.

The horror stories with Tiscali will come when you try to leave, so if you don't have a problem at present you are asking for one by leaving.

Personally I'm going to wait to see how the new services and prices hold up before making any rash decisions based on a handful of arbitrary complaints. Be's Pro 20Mb/2.5Mb services is very tempting though..

Thing is i do have a problem,my box is on its way out and as its an old Homechoice one and i'm still on the Homechoice network they can't replace it,which quite frankly was the final straw for me.

I got my MAC about 30 minutes ago, much to my surprise. I've just given it to Sky so fingers crossed and I'll see what happens.

Ours is also playing up. My other half pays the bill, but let's just say he's the sort that once you piss him off he makes up his mind and there's no coming back. Tiscali had better migrate our exchange and give us a new box quickly or they'll lose yet another Homechoice customer.

Be are also offering ADSL 2+ at our exchange, which I'll pay for out of the business account if we do change. We'll miss the extra channels, but a Freeview PVR will probably fill the hole in the shelf.

RyanL - How's it going with Sky, we too have had enough with Tiscali already after a fantastic 3 years with Homechoice.

Would be interested to find out if they're any better. My Mum had Sky for 16 years and only had a couple of problems...better odds than Tiscali...

RyanL - How is it going with Sky...posted before but forgot to quote you?!? Ready to murder some from Tiscali as they are all morons...even the engineer who came out today (without a box to replace the broken one) said as much...

You do realise that with the new Tiscali packages your fee would have gone down to £25/month.
With the free international call I expect my bill to reduce from £80 to £25 (I call the US a lot).

Tiscali maybe crap, but they are cheap.

We're finally getting migrated over from Homechoice to Tiscali proper next Friday, with the PVR box turning up the following Monday. I'll let you know how it goes.

Id rather pay a little more - and get more choice in channels for example. At the end of the day homechoice was great - but its never going to be what it was - Tiscali have ****ed the great service and reputation of homechoice totally. For this, its sorry - im goodbye - they have messed me around too much and have lost my custom by doing so.

What exactly did Tiscali do to you?

I, like most HC customers, are still on HC network which is exactly the same as it has ever been, pretty much perfect.
