Orange Select - finished?

I'm mid way through an 18 month orange select, 500 mins 500 text £25 tariff. My last month bill came, and all the texts were charged for... I enquired, and was told my tariff had come to an end! I was now being charged £25 for just the 500 mins - my texts were being charged for.

Can they do this? I'd not asked for the changed. They suggested I switched to the £35 500 mins, unlimited text tariff. But this costs me more, obviously.

I'm not happy with OCS and thinking of switching - surely this should be the final straw for me? I'm not even sure if it's legal...?

Have you checked the t&cs of the offer you were originally given? There were a lot of people that were given an 18 month text offer that ended Jan 08. Trouble is those people seem to have forgotten it was a time limited offer.

I will check... only thing is, when I bought my new contract in July, I wasn't told it was a temporary thing. It just seems a bit weird that the contract actually continued, but with a reduced offer (i.e. 500 mins still, but not 500 texts).

I have decided to leave Orange though... which is a shame cos I've been with them since 97, but I had a few problems with my handset which they didn't resolve well. I think that generally there's been a decline in service in the past few years. I'll stick this one out I think but will poss move to O2 in December.

Cheers
