Katherine's performance made my ears hurt . . . honestly!
I don't like the beatles, but I love that song and every moment Katherine sang was like torture to me.

I was never a great fan of hers when she was on the show , I think her looks got her much further than she should have gone , but I must admit she sounded good on the results show , boring as hell though !!

David H was predictable to go because of the homophobic press he's been getting in the USA. An alleged stripper from a gay bar is never going to win a US family show (whereas here in the UK ... haha)
Well Chico was seen as an ideal children's entertainer even after mucky piccies of him as a stripper surfaced so you are probably right about the UK
David C is a great performer and one of my favourites but that performance of E Rigby was a totally wrong arrangement, didn't anyone stop to think what the song is about? It's a narrative poem, the original underscored by a cello, he just belted out the words meaninglessly and hit a lot of inappropriate big notes. Impressive but not right.
I do see where you are coming from here. I thought the song was redeemed by the final chorus when the strings kicked in - but TBH up to that point I was thinking - what the hell is going on here? The meaning of the lyrics is completely lost!

Is it Beatles songs again next week? I only saw a recap of all 12 performances (short bits).
I didnt like the guy who sang Elanor Rigby, totally wrong arrangement (sounded like Nickelback/nu metal rubbish ) - I liked the piano version of Let It Be

I REALLY loved it when he did I Believe To My Soul the other week. Definitely another one of those dark horses in the competition.
This is off topic I know, but I can't hear 'I Believe to My Soul' anymore without thinking of Elliott Yamin - his version was AWESOME! I didn't dislike Chikezie's, but for me nothing compares to Elliott's... He should have made the final that year!

Back to the results, David H was never gonna win anyway, his vocals were too shambolic, and Kristy will be lucky to make the top 10 I think (IF we are judging on talent rather than popularity ) so no real surprises with the bottom 2 last week. Syesha needs to deliver something special this week, she's got the voice, just needs the song, have to agree with Simon on that

I totally agree here. I keep hearing "Best of the Night", but completely didn't make sense to me! Didn't connect with the song at all!

Just wondering... how come on American Idol they weren't allowed to sing Beatles songs before, but on X Factor they were allowed? I remember in Series 2 of XF, Journey South sang Let It Be. But on AI they weren't allowed before last week, i think. Why's that?
I think they have to buy the rights to use them on a show. Perhaps it's much more expensive for American Idol since the show goes out to alot more people than the X-Factor.
