Great idea for a TV stand - and you can vote for it
No pretence here - I do the PR for the firm that makes the material that this TV stand/packaging is made out of. However, being a techno junkie, I also really want one. I thought there might also be some appreciation of this idea on this forum.
Basically, it is a packaging concept that uses the TV's transit packaging to become a TV stand - quite neat I thought. It has been shortlisted for the Ideal Home Show and can be voted for as the best concept product. If you are feeling generous check out and vote for the 7th entry up from the bottom HERE. To see the beasty in action - see HERE. |

I'm at work so I can't get in to view the YouTube video.
But, based solely on what I can see on the other link, I'm afraid I voted for the water recycling sink/loo. The issues I have with the TV stand: 1. Would I trust a polystyerene stand with my £1000 odd TV? Sorry .... but no. 2. It simply doesn't look strong enough to support the weight. 3. Where do I put the Sky box? (and Xbox 360, DVD player, Amp .... etc) 4. My cats would shred it within a week. Sorry! Nice idea though. (the YouTube video may address some of my points I know ..... shall check when I get home) |

Its expanded polypropylene - huuuuuuuuuge difference. EPP is used for impact protection in rally cars, car seats, structural elements, etc..
Although you have hit the nail on the head re: our PR campaign - trying to show the man on the street that EPP is definitely not Polystyrene. THIS is the Rally PR THIS is why it will support your TV - and maybe even resist your cat

Ah right. Fair do's.
Clever idea. Have given it a vote as well as the sink/loo thing. ![]() (PS ... if it was cat resistant, I'd be mightily impressed! Very few things are ...) |
