Can I transfer a moblie number under a different name?
Say for example I wanted to take over a friends existing mobile number, if she/he was issued with PAC number and I gave this my new mobile supplier, would it go through without issue, or would the fact that the PAC number belongs to someone with a different name cause problems?

Both outcomes have been reported here in the past, so the safest way is to get your friends existing account transferred to you and then port the number.
Or get your friend to port the number and then take over the new account. |

Some networks used to ask for your full address when porting in. But now, as far as I'm aware (I know this is the case with O2) they just ask for the number you'd like to port, the SIM serial number and a contact number.

To us it wouldn't make a difference. You having the PAC code would be authorisation enough for us to take the number from whichever account it had come from regardless of named account holder (O2.)
