TV in room with no aerial socket

I hope , in the not too distant future, to get an LCD TV for my bedroom.

However, there is no aerial socket there and I wonder what would be the best way to get a good signal? ie AV Sender; Indoor aerial?

Thanks!

AV sender could work. if you have a freeview/sky/cable box in another room, most of them will allow you to take the remote upstairs with you, to turn over the channel from your room.
the downside, of course, you will only be able to watch the same TV channel as they are watching downstairs. this could cause arguments!

Indoor aerial..... probably not the greatest idea. if you're in a very high signal area, then you might be ok. how about a loft aerial? if you can get somebody to install one for you?

Many thanks for the advice. Any idea which AV Sender is best?

I do have a loft aerial but the aerial goes into the living room.

well Ive never used any AV senders myself, but make sure to get one with the remote control extender function (if you want to be able to flick through channels from your bed)

what are you going to plug the av-sender into? freeview box? make sure it has a spare scart socket. - I suppose, you could buy your own freeview box, put it downstairs and use the av sender to watch it in your room.

that way you wouldnt have to worry about needing to watch the same channel as the people downstairs.

I have a Humax PVR which does have a spare scart socket but don't think it is RGB.

Many thanks for the advice.

What's the freeview service like where you live? I'm in an area with a good strong signal (I can see the transmitter from my house) so a cheap indoor aerial works perfectly. I'm actualy using a portable one that came with a USB freeview TV module I bought for my laptop.

I too have found that using an indoor aerial connected to a freeview box works fine, infact I would say it has improved the picture quality compared to without a freeview box.

Assuming your bedroom is upstairs it's not difficult to also route to your TV, this will give much better results than any AV sender - both for convenience and picture quality.

Depending on your signal strength a simple splitter may be enough but in any case RF amps/distributors are not that expensive.

lizzy what you need is a distribution amp in your loft

one feed would go to your living room and another to your bedroom

I seem to remember your Freeview signal was not the best ?? So an indoor signal will probally struggle.
