Is it ever going to work? Since the v21 update, I have not seen any evidence that AR/AT has worked for any live sport over-runs.
Take last night's Everton vs Fiorentina UEFA Cup match on ITV4. I was watching it live and it looked like it was going to over-run, so I scheduled Enter the Dragon, which was on immediately after it. I did not finish watching the match and switched off and went to bed.
This morning, I find in my Playlist, Enter the Dragon 22:23~00:25 (it was previously scheduled for 22:00~00:05, I think.) I thought great, AR/AT worked. I stared playing the recording, and guess what I saw... part of the penalty shoot-out of the match! I moved all the way to the end of EtD and guess what... it finished prematurely, with no ending!
So if you had set the match to record, you would have missed the important penalties, and if you set the film to record, you would have missed the ending! Disappointment on both accounts! The BBC are no better with sports over-running, specifically the example of the FA cup game last month...
