The Nelson Mandela Concert, June 27 2008
Anyone planning on going? Looks like a similar concert to the Diana Memorial one. Looks quite good so far in terms of line-up:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main...mandela107.xml "Will Smith is to host a concert celebrating Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday this summer. The Hollywood actor and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith have agreed to front the star-studded event in Hyde Park on June 27 after being asked by the iconic former South African leader. As well as recognising the landmark date, the event will raise money for 46664, Mandela’s AIDS charity. A source told The Sun: “Will Smith is a big fan of Nelson and wanted to help out. Nelson is so inspirational and so many artists want to be involved. Razorlight, Keane, Queen and Annie Lennox are definites. U2, the Spice Girls and Sir Paul McCartney could join them and Eminem’s up for it too. “We think it will be Nelson Mandela’s last international public appearance, which will make it even more special.” Should Eminem agree to perform it would be his first major concert appearance since his self-imposed retirement in 2005. The event will be attended by 45,000 music fans, and special guests will include Princes William and Harry, former US President Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary, who is currently running to become the next President." |

I really hope the Spice Girls will be there because it will probably be their last ever performance and I wanna see it.

So if they are performing then I don't think it will be their last. |

I just registered for tickets
!!!Not sure I'll actually be able to go but at least I have a chance to buy tickets now if the line-up is really good. Actually I'll probably only go if the Spice Girls are playing, but it seems increasingly unlikely...especially as Mel B denied it the other day. I'm already doing concerts in Hyde Park on 28th & 29th of June, so line up would have to be amazing for me to go on 27th as well !!

Is it going to be broadcast on TV? I don't know if I can be bothered going if it's gonna be on TV anyway. Oh, how do you register for tickets anyway!

Would love to see Whitney at the concert
Her performance at the last one, was one of the best live sets I've ever seen |
