Have just returned from a depressing visit to the Doctor who thinks I may have problems with my gall bladder.

While she waits for results of tests she has recommended that I go on a low fat diet (which will also help with her other recommendation to lose some weight I suppose).

Does anyone have any recommendations for cookery books which have low fat recipes for people who really love their food?

Rosemary Conley

She's got loads of books with low fat recipes and she started doing it because she had problems with her gall bladder too.

Do you cook fresh normally anyway cabinet? Just by doing that you'll be going a long way to losing weight if you dont already. Also the internet is a great resource for healthy recipes. In fact so is DS->Food

Thanks for the recommendations.

I do cook a fair bit from fresh but I have to be honest and say that we do indulge in recipes using cream, butter and cheese regularly.

I guess that's the problem.

There are plenty of ways to have yummy meals that incorporate some of what you like!!

Also there are plenty of lower fat options / substitutes out there...

You can use coconut oil liberally, it doesn't need any bile to digest it.

I have the GI diet cookbooks by Rick Gallop

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_...Go.x=14&Go.y=6

And also the 'Cook Yourself Thin' one as well

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cook-Yoursel...5438197&sr=1-1

I use both a lot and I love my food.

Sorry about your news.

Out of interest as I have no idea about this condition, was your doctor referring to all fats? Even good fats like those from nuts, seeds, olive oil etc.?
