Sending freeview to other TV's

So, I had a bright idea that I would go down to Argos and buy me a gizmo that would allow me to watch the freeview box in the other rooms in the house without buying each room a freeview box and indoor aerial.

Er, I think I was a little stupid.

I bought this - http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...%2Bsenders.htm because the guy in the shop said it was good.

But, this is only the receiver. So am I right in thinking, that I will now need to buy a sender.

So I would need a sender plugged into the freeview box in the living room and then a receiver for each TV in the house?

Help!

Freeview boxes are less than twenty quid apiece. I doubt you'll be able to buy any AV senders for that little. Why not just get a digibox for each TV? That way each TV can watch its own Freeview channel, rather than all having to watch whatever channel the one Freeview box is tuned to.

I think the words "Additional Receiver" is the clue - you will need a main sender unit (of the same make) attached to the digibox - but be warned if you have a wireless broadband it can affect the picture.

Because I would also need an indoor aerial for each TV too. The signal in the bedroom on the indoor aerial is fine but at the front of the house its impossible to get a signal at all, hence the sender/receiver.

But the point is if you did get the sender end of the link you would only be able to watch the same programme on every TV.

The sender connects to a SCART on the Freeview box. It then sends the same signal to however many receivers you want to install. And the signal it sends will be the Freeview channel the TV directly attached to the box is also watching.

So unless you are quite happy for everyone in the house to watch the same thing all the time then this will do the job. if however you want each TV to be able to watch different channels at the same time then it will not do.

The only way each TV can have it's own choice of channels is to have a Freeview box on each TV. Which as you point out will also require an aerial feed to each box. Or a stack of boxes hanging off the one aerial that does work and separate senders for each room. Though you may struggle to find enough channels on the sender/receiver to cope with more than a couple of links.

There is only my partner and I in the house, but we do have 3 TV's so it only being the one channel on all TV's is fine. All we want is to be able to watch TV whilst in bed/in the study so only 1 TV would actually be on at the one time.

What I am doing at the moment is just moving the digibox around, although that is getting annoying and as I said previously I cant move it to the front of the house (study) because we can not get a reception from an internal aerial.

I guess I will be making another trip to Argos for a sender

you would be better putting a distribution amp in your loft for the aerial signal

how easy can it be ?

You need this

www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5342608/Trail/searchtext>DIGISENDER.htm

Will include the sender and one receiver, you can then add as many additional receivers as you like. Picture quality is very good on smaller size tv screens. I get absolutely no interference from wireless router.
