A Sony Walkman MP3 player (which is probably the best £65 I've ever spent as it sounds fantastic)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000VD216W

and the rest of the time on my PC speakers or Sony CD portable.

All my system was purchased during the 1980's and still works fine. Takes up a lot of room though compared to these mini systems that are about these days. I have no MP3 ipod or whatever they are called if I'm totally honest I have no idea how they work. Yes I am of a 'certain age' as well.

At uni on my laptop through bog-standard 10-year-old computer speakers.

At home on my Panasonic 5-CD changer fi-fi, I love going home to be reunited with it lol.

On the move my Creative Zen Touch 20gb. It looks and feels like a brick but it's got a really good battery life and I'll never be able to fill it up

Michell Syncro turntable with Rega arm - it's awesome

Rotel Amp and Rotel CD player. Pioneer CD Recorder

B&W speakers on Atacama stands

Musical Fidelity headphone amp and Beyer h/phones.

For out and about and on holiday an MP 3 player with Sennheiser phones which make the sound just about tolerable

... and a thing of exquisite beauty too.

It almost justifies its purchase price on looks alone (says a former Linn LP12 owner).

In rough order of how much use each one gets....

PC
(with Apple iTunes)

Car CD stacker (cant remember what make this is).

Radio stations via Freeview.

Radio stations via Satellite.

Sony mp3 "walkman" phone.

Home hifi (NAD C320 amp, Panasonic CD/DVD/HDD recorder, Acoustics Solutions DAB-FM combi, B&W 601 speakers).

the hifi is falling behind badly at the moment.
