From what the contestants this year have done so far, Chikezie is the strongest vocalist of the bunch. He has the largest comfortable range and is more versatile than the others as well.
Sadly, i don't see him in the finals, because he doesn't fot the whole package they are looking for on the show. I do see a career for him in music though, he is terrific.
What really impressed me was that he sounded so good, despite his not exactly having the most helpful of settings from the sound man, if you know what I mean. That was real power. He was not shouting like some do with the help of a little echo and delay, or getting help to seem like he had a fuller tone like many of the others did. He was not loud in the mix, but was still audible.
In a way Simon seemed to even aknowledge this, saying he controlled the stage rather than the other way around. A really good vocalist can overcome a lot, but most on these shows are good, not great. Wich is fine, as pop is not all about the vocal....but credit to Chikezie for that impressive vocal performance!
