The censoring is SOOOOO annoying !!
I am realy enjoying this show, apart from the constant censoring of basically EVERYTHING which has become soooooo annoying. Every second word is faded out..........why ?? Its on at 10 o'clock at night so whats the problem with swearing. As if that was'nt bad enough we have to put with them blurring everything we see too.............blurring out their mouths when they swear, blurring out tatoos on their body, even blurring out bloody bikini bottoms - you would think this is on air at 2 in the afternoon. I understand that this may be required in the USA but if E4 were going to make the effort to show this, they should have at least shown in properly which would make it much more enjoyable. Sorry if it seems trivial, but its getting more annoying with each episode.

It's on at 7/8pm in the US. This might be a reason why.

Why not just put out "turn off now if you don't like bad language or naked people getting their bits out"?

Censorship
The regular TV show you are watching is on at 7pm here. They have to blur out nakedness and block cursing. If you want to see it uncensored you could pay for the feeds or watch on Showtime after Dark.

The US market is not the UK one. You guys enjoy nudity and profanity on network TV. Well they dont! Only on cable TV are those things allowed, and I think they should be commended for that. Here in the UK, you cant even open a newspaper, without seeing naked people, thats what shocked me the most when I first came here. You cant change how their society work, and how their censorship works. This is a borrowed US tv show, if you dont like they dont like the censorship, then they shouldnt borrow it at all. And Big Brother Us, is not the only american reality TV show that runs on UK tvs, they all have the same guidelines. If you dont like it, I am afraid, youre just gonna have to not watch!

I think people make a big fuss out of nothing really when everyone has seen a naked person. Especially this year when the HG's seem to have very little morals. I really don't want to our children looking up to someone like Chelsia. That girl is a piece of work! I am not so concerned about nudity as I am the hatefulness and sociopathic behavior.

Nutters? I don't want our daughters ambition in life to be something like a "Page 3 Girl" Isn't that what you call the girls that show their boobies in the newspaper? We are just a bit protective of our children.
Yet the way the Nutters acted,You'd have thought they were banging each others brains out. |

I have to agree with you re: Janets slippage. Way too much was made over a little nip showing. I don't think most people even noticed till the press played it up. I am not "Nutters" though. Though many were...haha
I love UK BB. It is a completely different BB than ours. When will a new one start? Thanks to Youtube, I haven't missed one yet! Last edited by iambogart : 14-03-2008 at 21:49. Reason: added info. |

I just think thats its disrespectful to knock a society, because they dont want nudity or profanity on network TV. I quite like it that way. There a tons of other channels if they want to see that. And if you want hink its to see all of the cussing and nudity, there is always the Live feed. I think its great they try to censor those things. Ive been in the UK for 2 years, and TV is unbelievable, the things that they show! If I was watching with my kids, I would be horrified!

Is it just the language that's used?? because nudity is still quite rare on normal Free to view TV |

I don't eally mind the swearing or the body part covering, wht i find annoying is the blurring of their mouths when they swear, I mean they obviously swore because it's beeped out so why hide the face as well, facial expression is important when reading body language.
Also I would have thought it was far more sensible to put the show on later when it wouldn't be so necessary to censor it so much. 7 or 8 o clock is way to early, for a show with that kind of language and behaviour. I wouldn't want my kids to watch either UK or US BB so it seems weird to have all that censorship just to show it at a time when kids will be watching. I agree with other FM's that it is admirable that the US don't want so much profanity on at such early times, but I woul argue if it has to be censoreds to the extent that BBUS is, then why not just put it on later, like SATC. I mean what person would consider SATC suitable for kids just because they beeped out the C and F words, and fuzzied up the breasts. |

So what things have you found shocking on UK TV??

Its not a bad thing as long as there are other outlets to show the more risque stuff to those that want to watch it. After dark is a good example of how things should be shown after a certain time. Also the live feeds show loads of nudity and cussing, the other night they showed james and chelsia completely nude messing around the shower area in the garden, theyve shown nat expressing milk from her boobs and the wild night when they put on a show for the boys. The stuff is available uncensored if you want it...I think they are much stricter on censoring when a hm sings than anything else. |

on channel 4, 3, or 5, they have some shocking tv shows with full nudity!
If you chose to watch those shows with your children then that would ultimately be your choice. Also if there is full frontal nudity shown(which is very rare) there will using be a warning posted before the program starts stating it. |
