Not impressed with the little Olivers either. You either have the stereotype "sweet little posh boy" Olivers that he said he didn't want or ones who can't actually sing. Weird.

Sorry to see Nancy (East End Girl) go - I thought she was good!

Well I guess the girl from Rent is the one who is going to get the part. She's the only one with a strong enough voice. She was actually the only decent thing in Rent, which is possibly the worst production I have EVER seen in my life. But she is a very "traditional" Nancy, nothing ground breaking there.

Am LOVING all these little boys at their posh schools. The best one was the second boy who actually appears to be a student at Hogwarts.

I'm not too impressed with any of the Olivers yet, thay have all sung VERY flat so far.

Lol. He'll always be Cap'n Jack, won't he?

I liked Nancy as a personality, but didn't think she was anything super special as a singer.

I think I'm going to lose patience before this series is over. I've never liked Oliver as a musical, and the mockerny accents do my head in. I didn't like Sound of Music much before the Maria programme, but it converted me, so it's possible I'll be persuaded to change my mind, but I'm not convinced yet.

Aw, I can't believe Nancy Nancy got cut! I guess she would have been too 'appealing' over the 'chosen one' of this series. There was something really magical about her.

Ha I'd love it if they showed a normal Oliver in a normal school getting his "you could be Oliver" and then the rest of his class kicking his head in.

Every one of these boys seems rather priviliged.

More 'Little Lord Fauntleroy' than 'Oliver' with this lot.

Heh unfortunately yes. I knew of him and his talent long before Dr Who and Torchwood went to his head and mucked him up.

Well the character of Oliver is meant to be from a posh background.

No, when we meet Oliver, he has been in a workhouse all his life so the fact that he turns out to have a posh background is irrelevant. The fact that he is a rough little urchin makes the discovery all the more impactful. That was the big problem with the film for me - the fact that Oliver, for all his rough upbringing - was a sweet little posh boy with a drippy little voice.

They really are rather posh with very nice clipped voices.
