This is a BBC production they don't even think that anyone who earns less than 40,000 a year exists.

Yes, he's meant to be from a posh family... but brought up in a workhouse and so a bit rough round the edges!

I'm surprised by all the posh boys - there are lots of drama groups/clubs in rougher/inner city areas so I'd have thought some of the boys would be coming from there - but so far it's about 80% posh if not more!

You mean that there are people who have to get through daily life without a trampoline in the back garden?

It's too low for the bigger lass. That did confuse me earlier - why on earth they were all singing As Long as He Needs Me about 5 tones up on how it is normally done.

I liked the fat one, and the one that sang after her (when they all started crying).

Ha Ha ... I remember watching him doing that with the Maria's ... I didn't realise at the time he prefered men ...

Did anyone here watch The Choir? I would like to see that little blond Lewis from Year 7 as Oliver.

I think with the boys, whoever gets the part will have to live in London, because they'll only be doing three performances a week at most, so they're not going to get someone from a Northern housing estate.

Lass in the film was a bit too sweet for my liking. The original actress, Georgia Brown, was a lot rougher round the edges. None of this lot are strong enough characters so far, except of course, the highly trained girl from Rent who we have conveniently forgotten about when they put the call in to tell her she's through.

One 'g'. I don't think he's in the cast for this new production though.

The Billy Elliots come from all over the place. But yes I guess once the show is running they will need to live down south somewhere.

I like the curly haired girl who is going nuts. She's nowhere NEAR strong enough to be Nancy but has potential.

the tramopline and the 40K remarks were funny!

Gawd, yeah... the BBC types tend to come from such posh backgrounds themselves they just don't have a clue about real life..
