Just randomly looking at a few of the other people who got through and Francesca Jackson looks interesting if it is the same person in Call backs 1-10. Already has appeared on the West End in Oliver (her debut age 13), shared a flat with Connie Fisher for about 5 years, knows Denise van Outen because she was in Rent with her and back in September 2007 when she did this interview said her dream was to appear as Nancy in Oliver.

Just seen the show from last night and I really liked Nancy Cleopatra was very good too. My faves so far.

I love Nancy Nancy so much I think it's blinding me to the qualities of all the other girls. As froglet says, has she peaked too early?

I also like Cleopatra Nancy from the mean streets, crazy big-hair Nancy, posh opera Nancy (seriously, is Barrowman going to snog them all this time, because she's such a little smite, it would be a bit wierd!), Motown Nancy, Liverpool Nancy (although she's a bit flat) and Arabic Nancy even though she can't sing very well.

There was an Amy Winehouse-looking Nancy in there too, I think she got through last? Amy Winehouse if she wasn't a crackhead, that is ...

I think everybody on here is doing the Blackpool Girl a diservice you need a big personality to carry a stage. As for the rest some may look OK on camera but no one has made me think Nancy material apart from the Blackpool girl.

I jumped around the room when I saw Katie Rowley Jones, she's my favourite actress ever. Her contract to play Nessa runs out in June, however, so all of the training and practices and the live shows on a Saturday would compromise with her actual Wicked shows. Meh, maybe she'll renew her Wicked contract now... *looks hopeful*. She's an awesome singer, though.....

I like Nancy Nancy but they may not let on her the live show cos they know the audience will love her and that will mean their chosen one will not win. I mean there must already be someone from the girls that all the producers and Andrew want us to chose and it would mess up thier plans if we went with someone else.

Here in Leftpondia world, we've got to score for what's going on over there. After listening to a few clips on the BBC I'd Do Anything website, I'm also for Nancy Nancy and Francesca Jackson.

Samantha Barks and Elleasha Daly sound good to me. Elleasha Daly sounds sweet. It's a bit tough to tell who's qualified as Nancy from these short little clips but I'm sure the girls will be schooled to bring out the best in their voices.

While ALW mentioned this will be different than looking for Maria or Joseph, I do have a hunch that the winner will also be someone who has had a bit of stage experience. Some show turn raw-talented kids into overnight pop sensation but HDYSABLM and ADWD intrigued me because they were looking for something different. To lead a company requires more than a good voice. The winner must have maturity, confidence, and stage presence to wow the audiences.

I wonder if they are looking for Nancy via this show as it is a huge step to take on a lead role in West End Show. Look how many have struggled including Connie Fisher just with the strain on the voice.

Lets face it Leona Lewis didn't even sing live on Sports Relief so someone as good as she is supposed to be wouldn't be able to handle the demands of West End Stage.

Public are probably going to be better satisfied with the winner being in a lesser role if she is actually performing more often. I know a real problem was so many of the public bought tickets to hear Connie/Lee but their particular at performance didn't have them singing.

They will' of course, see Oliver selected for role. In fact all three of them so they will have seen/know the boy in this role.

I think the experiences from Maria and Joseph have been a trial-and-error lesson for the creators of the reality show and producers of the WE show. Connie and Lee are very talented but young performers. This sudden rush into the spotlight can become overwhelming for anyone at that age. On top of performing demands, their status as celebrities takes a big bite out of their time to do the P.R. end of their careers.

Hopefully, they're learning that they can't push these people too hard or too fast into the spotlight or they will burn out.

It depends how much they've already done doesn't it. They might sell them to us as straight off the street rough diamonds but that may not be the whole truth. At least they have got some people with real talent anyway which is the main thing. They have to really, there's nowhere to hide if you're playing eight shows a week in a major part in the West End! I'm so glad that Aoife, Abi and Helena are doing well- they all deserved it, and already it's obvious that several of this set do too.

Let's just hope that Nancy Nancy IS the chosen one.

Here here, Froglet! That's why I like these shows so much. When I watched ADWD, they didn't cruelly wave off the boys with, "Bye bye you losers". A lot of these boys worked hard and have gotten the springboard to starting new careers even after the competition ended. Keith Jack, for example, has a voice that I find quite lovely but he lacks the stage experience to stand in the WE right now. He has been given the opportunities to hone his skills so he can make steps towards that future.

Yes, some people said they had their bets on Lee since Week #1 of ADWD but he still had to jump through hurdles every week to prove he could be Joseph. So did Connie, who could have been shipped back to telesales had the public not spotted her. Even the "polished professionals" had their risks since they were overlooked before.

It's very early days yet. Looking back to Maria, the girls most heavily featured in the audition programmes were Leanne and Siobhan, not Connie (who was most definitely their 'chosen one').

On the very little that we've seen, I like Nancy nancy very much, but I hope that the fact that her name is nancy won't sway viewers too much (I know that sounds silly, but it's my belief that people vote based on things like this. Connie was hugely advantaged because she looked a bit like Julie Andrews). I would love a really close fought competition this time around, there was something inevitable about Lee and Connie as winners, I want more suspense this time.

After taking a random look at the audition pieces on the website, it seems to me that there are lots of very talented girls at Nancy school and I can't wait to find out who makes the top 12. I agree that Francesca Jackson is excellent and if she gets into the top 12 her experience would really stand to her. Helen French has a fabulous voice, but I wonder if her look is too old for the part (Nancy is only 17 in the novel).

Am I right in saying that Zoe Bird made it as far as Maria school last time? This is an infinitely better part for her and they really seem to like her. I'd love to see her make the live shows.

Lauren Bannon is adorable, I think Jessie Buckley (another Irish girl, featured fairly heavily last night) has a fabulous look for the part, not sure about the singing yet. Natalie O'Donnell's tuning was all over the bloody shop in her audition piece, but her look and personality are absolutely perfect.

If this one turns out to be less of a turn a 'nobody' into a star more a public audition for MT ladies then don't think that will be a bad thing at all After all there are so many around 'they' don't need someone coming in off the streets to take a prime role and that has been one of the problems with Connie but less so with Lee because he had kinda paid his dues as an understudy - anyway it has to be better than a soap star being given a plum role?

Yes, the boys done good too! I am so glad that Lewis got his chance to play Joseph and even though Lee was, and is, amazing the others really deserved to get their chance.

I agree that's the case at the moment. However, the script of a new production need not be cast in stone and the part of Nancy could be beefed up with an extra song or two.

I enjoyed the show but still they give us the back stories. Sorry I don't frigging care if someone's cat died when they were 10- I just want to hear a good voice and see star quality. I did see a few front runners but I will keep stum as when I pick someone I seem to doom them

I do hope they cut down on the sob stories but they don't have the element of the emotional tug-at-the-heartstrings music which x factor sob stories have. And ADWD had them as well.

That said, I am very much looking forward to the rest of the show.

I thought the girls who sang with Cocker-nee London accents were much better, the girl whose parents were opera singers (?) was very good.
