I think its the fact that all the judges and ryan are so awful that makes it so funny to watch!! I used to love Ryan and his 'Seacrest Out'! I dont know what possessed him to do that but it was so funny to watch! I think he should bring it back! His banter with Simon is very entertaining as is Paula's awesomeness of everything, if someone tripped up on stage and forgot the words she'd just say they were 'looking beautiful tonight' and leave Simon to say they were sh*t, and then there's Randy and his 'Dogs', i fail to understand whether 'you were in the doghouse tonight' is a compliment or a critisism!

I think they should all stay!

I've warmed to him since the Chikieze incident.. but I seriously don't think he can read the autocue at all..

Really, really bad quality.. but the first seconds of that clip REALLY annoyed me.

I think on the whole his entertaining moments eclipse his not-so-entertaining ones (he makes me giggle regardless, sometimes because he's such a caricature of the american TV host/Hollywood male specimen, and other times because he comes out with some genuinely witty stuff...his only dodgy moments for me really are sometimes when he's interacting with the contestants and struggles to stay impartial), and by-and-large he does an excellent job of hosting the show...I certainly can't imagine anyone else doing it...

Off topic a little bit, and probably of no interest to anyone either, I'm just curious...has anyone else noticed how in the UK edits we still always used to get the plugs for the AI website ("idolonfox.com" as it was but now seems to go by "americanidol.com") but for some reason we don't anymore? Is it a licensing thing or is it just not mentioned that much anymore anyway?

I really just don't see what you are talking about. The man, if nothing else, is a professional and widely considered to be a polished host. Even if they don't like his personality. Reading the "autocue" is no problem to him. NOBODY would be able to maintain a hosting job if they couldn't simply read the "telepromter". I just don't know what you are seeing.


Um....did you actually WATCH the clip? Because he kind of critisized her a bit, but still liked her. And the only person acting like an idiot in the clip is Simon. "Ohhh....judging is sooooo HARD! Come on Ryan. Switch with Paula!!!!!"

Perhaps you are talking about Ryan coming in and asking the judges why they didn't put someone through? That was a girl that came before, and he was joking.

On top of the fact the whole thing was a panto constructed by the producers. Come on!
