Panasonic Ex75 not showing picture.
My panasonic ex75 is not outputting a picture from it's tuner when connected to my lcd tv with component. If I use AV2 on my sony tv where the conection is indirect via scart into AV2 on the ex75 I see a picture. Strangely it is recording and playing back ok, just not showing a picture otherwise. Am I missing a vital setting?

Next, it may be that you display does not support progressive mode , which may be switched on. Go to Functions/ To others / Setup / Connections / Progressive to turn it off. Whilst there it is worth noting that the unit cannot output RGB AND component ... It is Either / Or ... and it may simply be that you have not changed this setting over to switch to the component output. Setting is in: Functions/ To others / Setup / Connections / AV1 output. Choose one of the 'with component' settings. [ Either 'S video with component ' or 'Video with component.' ] Video may be safer - in the sense that you want some way of being able to see the menus to change back if you cannot get this issue sorted out. Good luck. |

It must be faulty gavtech as i have gone into connections in the set up menu and checked everything, I am reasonably familiar as I also have an ES20 which was working fine through component. The unit even does not work through scart and I notice that it does not support RF output as my ES20 used to do. I have not tried HDMI yet. Luckily it appears to show a picture via AV2. I used to have a scart input from my Sony PVR into my ES20 so it could record and the EX75 shows a picture this way if I select the PVR input on my sony but only if this unit is in standby. I bought it from work cheap so I guess that is why it was returned by the original owner. I can live with the way it works at the moment.

All works fine using a HDMI lead so I think the scart output must be faulty.

It cannot do both at the same time. Have you been trying it like that? [ Seeing you mention not having tried HDMI yet , above ... probably not. ] The lack of AV1 output can be cause by simple corruption causing mute lines to latch... so to eliminate that possibility, do a power rest by disconnecting from the mains for 10 minutes. |

this one seems odd as Gavtech is trying to sort the AV1 settings yet the OP is describing a picture using scart via AV1.
Are we saying that connection from AV2 to TV works over scart but AV1 to TV will not give a picture via scart or component? Rgds, Scorp |

This machine if connected to the tv via AV1 scart will not show a picture, however when connected to my Sony hard drive recorder via scart it shows a picture via the sony device on av2 on the tv. The component connection also does not work but via hdmi it works fine. I have checked the settings carefully and all is set correctly. I did buy this machine very cheaply, so perhaps it had this fault with the original owner. Luckly my lcd has hdmi.
