I thought it was just me. Absolute rubbish.

Ditto for Scarface.

I also agree with people putting forward the works of Woody Allen.

I also have a hatred of black and white films (even if they are new films filmed in b&w).

Oh - and musicals.

I am a big film fan though.

for me it is Crash- a movie about racism that could only be made by a white middle class american. the script was dreadful, the characters didnt seem real and we were not given any chance to get to know the characters as all they seemed to talk about was how hard it is being black, asian, white [insert ethnic group here]. The worst thing is that this scooped all the awards, where as the tv show, The Wire, which does this kind of thing far better, languishes in obscurity.

i also hated Eternal Sunshine and whatever it is called. Yeah, i know it is trendy to love this film but that doesnt mean it is any good.

As someone who does`nt follow the crowd..I make my own judgements on films...basically I enjoy it or I dont, and then I employ the off button. it depends what your looking for in a film, good acting, effects, musical score, factual etc. I base the below on the fact that they bored the living s**t out of me but they also bought joy to thousands(apparently)

No order of tedium

Traffic
Gone with the wind (not a battle in sight)
English patient
Oh brother, where art thou? (who cares)
Dukes of Hazard (reynolds)
Titanic
Lord of the Flies
Pearl harbour

and many more but my brain cell has gone numb

I was surprised not to enjoy TWBB because I'm a huge fan of the Coen's, or at least of their earlier output
Er... There Will Be Blood is a Paul Thomas Anderson film (him of Magnoila / Boogie Nights / Punch Drunk Love fame), not Coen Brothers. Are you thinking of No Country for Old Men?

to people saying Gone with the Wind.
it's my favourite film of all time - however, I respect your opinions people and if we all liked the same stuff we'd be in a dull dull world indeed!
here's my movies that I think are bad despite being highly rated....
The Matrix Trilogy
Brokeback Mountain
The Piano
A Clockwork Orange
The Simpsons Movie (I liked it but it was definitely 12 years too late)
Star Wars episodes I-III (although they werent that highly rated I guess!)
there's so many more but I just cant think at the mo....

I didn't think much of that either, I just thought what made it so special that it deserved the big screen treatment...

The Simpsons has such a rich mythology that no film could ever do it justice.

On the plus side though it did gift the world Spider-Pig

...you read the book and understood the plot?

You are a better reader than I, McEwan is my archnemisis in Lit.

Lost in Translation- Didn't get the appeal

I agree with whoever listed The Englishpatient- dull. Anyone watch Seinfeld? There's an episode where Elaine goes mad after being forced to sit through this more than once.

Titanic
Pearl Harbour (though thinking about it, I don't believe it was ever highly rated!)
American Beauty
The Royal Tennenbaums
There Will be Blood
Beowulf
Gross Point Blank (probably more to do with Minnie Driver)
Citizen Kane

Never seen - The English Patient - seems like to much 'stiff upper lip angst!'

Ghost

Every time Demi and Patrick dance togther at the end i'm rolling my eyes and thinking "its Whoopie you idiot" It ruins the whole film.

Titanic

Totally unbelievable partnership between Kate and Leo. Why doesn't she share the door with him!!!!! Why does the old woman throw the necklace away, selfish old bat.

The English Patient

Yawned all the way through it.

Sexy Beast.

I can watch Ray in anything, but Kingsley completely ruined this for me, I didn't find him intimidating at all, to me he just came across as a manic and frankly cretinous old man.

Its easy to say you dont like this film or that film, but you need to give alternatives that you do consider to be up there in the top 10.

Fargo
Pretty much my 3 favourite films

I love Fargo and There Will Be Blood (however they're a bit too similar) but I can't stand any other Cohen brothers films. The Big Lebowski must be one of the most over rated films ever. Sure, it's got some cool bits in, but it feels a bit empty. Don't get me started on Barton Fink.
