Life of a DVD
I know that the life span of a commercially produced audio CD is about 15 years or so and indeed some of my older CDs are now getting a little difficult to read. I assume this applies to DVDs but does anyone know if the life span is any less due to the increased density of the data. If this is the case then what about HD DVD with 15GB on a single layer or Blu-Ray with 25GB on a single layer.
It's just a thought, I'd hate to start buying blu-ray and only get a few years out of the disks. |
