Vodafone have been advertising unlimited texts plus 500 inclusive minutes to any uk network with a free Nokia N81 8GB. 18 month deal of course!

Tasty!

See the ads in Metro.

o2 offer loads of unlimted texts deals, at much better value, and unlike the 3 network, they also provide a signal!

Actually, while I'm usually a supporter of o2 (they've COMPLEXLY turned aorund Prepay over the years) - I can't seem to find a tariff, with a similar spec handset included offering the same 18 months and 500 mins & Unlimited texts. Please can you point me in that direction?

And as for actually getting a signal, I've yet to see 3 chastised by OFCOM for failing to provide enough coverage. Unlike o2.

I think Three is pretty good given that - if there's no 3G 3 signal - it automatically defers to two back-up networks. If you're on o2, and there's no signal, there's no signal.

The only network it drops back to is Orange, it does this as it doesn't have its own 2G network.

My 3 contract phone still falls back on to O2, however my PAYG SIM doesn't.

I'd like to see the OFCOM report about o2 not offering good enough coverage??

Especially after o2 has been the only network that I can honestly say has worked everywhere I have even been beating orange and vodafone hands down.

So come on then, which networks do 3 use as back up's?

Orange and T-mobile?

Also the 3 unlimited text deal - do those texts INCLUDE picture messages, like the mighty o2 network??? (4 texts to one picture msg)?

O2 are to get their knuckles rapped for not rolling out their 3g network fast enough. They Have the worst 3g coverage out of all the operators.

There are rumours in the trade press that O2 may buy 3UK to give them an instant 3G network to satisfy Ofcom's requirements... Hutchinson have been trying to offload 3 for some time now...
