Finding Music Videos
perhaps this sounds a stupid question, but how do people find videas when they don't know the artist?
I only normally look for vids of artists who I know the name of and youtube for example is so enormous that a key-word search seems likely to generate thousands of hits. a couple of times recently, I've been bowling and been distracted by an interesting video on the TV for the nearby lane not in use - as usual, the music in the alley was not necessarily what was on the TVs and the place was too noisy to make anything out. in particular, about 2-3 weeks ago, I was completely put off my game by the sight of a female singer dancing back to camera in tight short shorts I think it was intercut with scenes that looked like people dancing in a club - I think the vid ended with the woman in question, dressed differently, showing off amongst a group of people dancing in a club - unfortunately, the channel didn't display who it was at the end of clips and I'd missed the beginning. she looked vaguely familiar, but I couldn't remember who she was. not terribly different from Britney's "Piece of me", but I don't think it was that one. when you see these vids and don't hear what the actual track is like, it makes you wonder whether it was any good or not. how do people find out the artist from such tracks? is there a thematic database? do the cable channels post play lists of what they played on particular days? |

I google any lyrics that I can remember to find the name of the artist. It works in most cases
