First - sorry if this is the wrong board

I will be moving to a new house (New build) within the next few weeks. For the first time ever I would like to use my TV's in the house properly without stand alone aerials etc. I would also like to view SKY service in other rooms.

I have a SKY HD Box and subscription and a SKY+ Box that is on a multiroom subscription.

I would like to view both terrestrial and SKY in 6 rooms.

They are: Lounge (TV point in wall)
Kitchen (TV point in wall)
Study (TV point in wall)
Bedroom 1 (TV point in wall)
Bedroom 2 (no TV point)
Bedroom 3 (no TV point)

SKY HD will be in the lounge and can feed the Kitchen & Bed 1
SKY+ (multiroom) will be in the Study and can feed Bed 2 & Bed 3

I would also like to be able to change the SKY channel if possible using a 'magic eye' of some description if possible.

I would appreciate any advice you can give on how to achieve this and what I need to buy (Loftboxes etc) etc.

Can this even be achieved by a technically useless person like myself or is a pro-install the way to go?

Thanks in advance!

This is how you do it. If you can follow the diagram then you'll be able to do this yourself.

I've just installed the same for one of my customers. The only difference is that the dish LNB feeds go direct to the sat boxes, not through the amp.

The TV local to each box gets a direct feed - HDMI for Sky HD and RGB SCART for the Sky+. The distribution system is RF to 6 TV points. I've given them analogue & freeview everywhere, plus RF ch6 on all TV's for SkyHD and RF ch7 for Sky+. There are two TV's with Sky Eyes - the master bedroom and the eldest boys bedroom. From these two locations either Sky box can be controlled.

Regards

Thanks for that Chris.

I am happy to know that this can be done, however just looking at that diagram has made me feel quite stupid...LOL

I guess I need to find someone like you in the South Yorks area that can do this for me without ripping my arms and legs to do it.
